Top of head is very hot-

I have read alot here about headaches and pain but the top of my head (the very top, not my forehead) gets extremely hot. Does anyone have this symptom? Is it maybe nerve inflammation?

JUST the top of your head? Are you hot in general, or not? I've never had this specific symptom, just more generalized feeling of fever, constantly feeling too hot and bad sweating...intolerance to heat and cold.

I actually just saw a very similar post yesterday I believe, while cruising the message boards (not sure if it was on the Lyme forum or Chronic Pain forum...maybe it was you? - you could try searching the whole site for "hot head").

The only thing I can think, from common sense, is that heat obviously escapes your body through the top of your head (which is why people say if your feet are cold to put on a hat). Do you have a temperature? Do you notice if it helps to lie down (so the top of your head isn't the highest point of your body, where heat would rise?).

Giggle, I've been called a hot head a lot!!

On a more serious note ~ the very top of my head gets very hot when my body has had quite enough heat. For instance, when the top of my head starts to get very hot, I know that I am now done piddlin' around outside & MUST go inside - into the AC to cool off pretty much right away. I have managed to give myself heat exhaustion twice, and am on a medication that reduces my ability to sweat, and with the heat intolerance that can come with tick-born illnesses - it can be a real challenge to be outside, in the heat trying to just go grocery shopping some days this summer!!

I get a lot of 'top of the head' headaches too.

First of all thank you for your reply and excuse me for my English.
Here is the only virtual community that I explained my problem.

Yes, just a little area (about 2 inches) at top of the head. Not fever, pressure, headache or any other symptoms. When it is hot I put ice on my head and it make me feel better.

And about lie down, I tried it but my position make no difference at all.

I have just started getting a burning feeling in my arms. They actually turn red and have alot of heat coming from them but the rest of my body will be fine. I wonder if it is the same thing?

From a western perspective:
-autonomic neuropathy and POTS are very common with Lyme
-flushing is a big part of ANS neuropathy; thermal regulation gets wonky
-Babesia causes heat as well

From a Chinese medicine perspective:
-heat is released from your extremities like your head, hands and feet
-you could be creating false heat to compensate for your bodies weakness; maybe you are yin deficient

Just on your head, lyme usually has multiple symptoms. it can be a migraine

I have experienced this " hot head " feeling for the last couple of months. It appears about in line with (the "soft spot" on a baby's head) the middle of my head. And is followed with severe headachs that stays sometines for days. When taking headache tablets, sometimes it will subsidefor a while and then come back with full avengence.
Has anyone else experienced something similar?

I've had the same. My current working theory is lymph nodes getting inflamed and clogged. I have pressure in my head, feels like fluid. It's all inflammation. The heat moves around and I have sore spots and pressure points. I've found that drinking lemon water and cleaning the lymphs has helped my head problems the most. Still working on this theory, but so far so good.

My theory is similar, but just includes toxins. The Lymph system is the '1st filter' of the blood, so when they get stagnant, there will be more toxins throughout the body.

I would encourage you to continue to add in more detoxing routines - slowly though.

But, there is such a thing as over detoxing. This happens when we move more toxins than our body is capable of processing out effectively. Many toxins are stored in our tissues, and by detoxing, we move them to the bloodstream where we can process them out of our bodies through the lymph system, then on to the liver and kidneys as so on. We have to be sure to add in more detoxing routines slowly and carefully, or we will end up herxing just like we had never been detoxing. Re very hot head possible cause and solution:
The top of my head used to get very hot and a strong headache accompanied it. I have been getting these symptoms for several years, particularly on sunny summer days. I could not tolerate being in the sun, even with a hat on, for more than about 20 minutes per day. I had tried ibuprofen, acetaminophen with no success. Ice packs placed on the top and back of my head helped slightly. The hot headache could last for days.

A friend who had taken Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner training suggested my frequent very hot head feeling, and accompanying headache, could be caused by anxiety. He suggested that I take bitters. I have found that 1 cup of roasted dandelion root tea curtailed the heat and headache most of the time. Sometimes, I take 2 extra-strength ibuprofen with the tea.

I have not found this tea to prevent the hot headache.

I stumbled across this Lyme forum when I searched for information on hot headaches. A few people had mentioned this condition.
