Lyme, co-infections, Virus--I got my tests back

I got my tests back that some of you may remember I had ordered by the infectious disease doctor that I had a few arguments with.  Lyme was +, coinfections were -, and suprise, surprise!  A virus popped up: it is called the

PARVOVIRUS B19. 
The IGG was 7.5 (it should be < 0.9). 
Not sure what it means, but it seems it is a common virus. 
IGM was normal.

Anyway, I was on abx at the time the blood was taken, so not sure yet if I can trust the NEG on the co-infections.

Hi Simela

I to have been tested for PARVOVIRUS B19 however mine was negative, do you know if this can bring up false negatives, had you been tested for it previously with negative results, or was this the first time you had been tested for it?

I don't think it brings false + ( but I may be wrong) because is a quantifier, rather than a qualifier (+ or -). It is a number. My number was 7.5, which is A LOT higher than the top limit (<.9). I have never been tested for it before (this was my first time).

Gosh, that is a lot higher than the recommended limit, sorry to hear you have this virus, but hopefully at least now you can get treatment, which can only be a good thing.

Parvo is a common illness in children and known then as Fifths Disease. For whatever odd reason, in adults it is much harsher on them than on the children. Parvo alone is enough to cripple an adult. Sometimes Parvo is accompanied by EBV, CMV and others; were you tested for anything else? Getting ahold of the parvo will improve your health tremendously - hope your doctor is open to you using antivirals.

I was only tested for lyme, co-infections, and this virus. Lyme test came back +, co-infections came --, and the virus came +. I was not tested for any other viruses. I don't trust the co-infection results bec. I was on abx when the blood was taken and some LLMDs suggest to be off abx for 2 weeks prior to blood work.  So, still not sure I have (or not) coinfections.  This is wearing me out!  12 days until my appt w. the LLMD.  He is actually a DO, but came highly recommanded, so I hope I'll be in good hands!

I am so sorry to hear that you have Fifths Disease! Hopefully your new LLMD will know a lot about how to treat it effectively!! Please be sure to give us plenty of updates!!!

I am so upset about this whole thing, my PCP saw the results, I asked her to check my ear and she said: "It's clear, it is probably just a virus, which is good!" I wanted to say: NO< IT IS NOT GOOD< I HAD PAIN IN MY EAR FOR A MONTH!

I tried to talk to her about my thyroid and she said I should see an endo for that. I got so confused with all this stuff going on, I did not ask her to give me a referal for an endo. So, I can't wait to see the Lyme doc and see what he says. He does not accept my insurance. THere is a LLMD that accepts insurance, but he has bad reviews--there are people that complain they are waiting up to 6 hours to be seen! They were also complaining that he makes them come in for 2 weeks every day to his office for the IV, instead of giving them the option to do it home. Some people are saying that he has lyme himself and he is not doing well, and that he is going crazy. Not sure what to think! He is close to me (20 min drive) and takes my insurance, so I am thinking I may give him a try.
