I've heard or read Dr. B talking about
root canals. He said they are unsuccessful for as many as 50% of the people because the nerve is not pulled out or something like that. He said nothing that is "dead" should be left in the mouth, or something close to this idea.
I get tooth aches and ear pain--this is a new symptom, started about
2 mo ago. It comes and goes. It is pretty painful, but since in comes and goes, I do not take anything for it--I am waiting for it to pass and so far, it does. It may last minutes or up to several hours. I also wake up in pain and I suspect I am grinding my teeth, more recently. I have had one root canal, years ago, and never had a problem with it. The
tooth pain right now is on my left side of the face--nothing to do with my root canal (on the right). It is a migrating pain, it seems it affects different parts of my mouth/face almost every time. I'll have to bring it up with my LLMD on Thrusday when I will meet him.
It is a dull-pressure pain and my lips seem to get numb (sometimes) when I get the pain or soon after. So far, my
root canal seems fine. This started after the Lyme symptoms RE-started, so I do not think it has anything to do with my RC.
