the last 3 days at about 1230pm my fingertips get cold and then painfully numb like i have mashed them. does anyone else have symptoms that cycle like this? they will stay numb for about an hour or 2 then they are ok.

I have numbness off and on a lot, though I can't say I've seen a cyclical nature to it. Babesia supposedly can cause cyclical symptoms...I have cyclical fevers, worst in the afternoon--presumed to be due to the babesia.

I do not have fevers, but I was wondering about the babesia, did your blood work show anything out of ordinary/ if I remember corectly, babesia is infecting the red blood cells??? I am trying to figure out if I have co-infections. I tested neg for all the coinfections, but my LLMD thinks I have bartonella.

No, I can't say me symptoms come every 24 hours... THey are very hard to predict...

Are you taking any anti-epileptic medications like Neurontin or Lyrica? It could be a symptom of Lyme or could be a side-effect of medication...the anti-seizure medications (two mentioned are used most often for nerve pain) are known to cause temporary numbness in fingers, etc. (but usually is worse in the morning goes away as the day goes on).

My basic blood labs were normal, *however* I think you are supposed to be able to see under a microscope that the red blood cells are not normal when you have babesia. But I believe that is not a typical thing that doctors/labs do these days....silly isn't it? You'd think they'd look visually at the blood too...

I think I have had Lyme for 9 years...the fever only emerged this year, after being treated by a chiropractor with acupuncture and supplements. My belief is his treatment helped my immune system to get on its feet enough for it to actually at least acknowledge there is a raging disease in me, and respond with the temperature elevation. But not enough to fight to the level where white blood cells are engaged in the fight...

Im a little late on this one, but I just wanted to say that my LLMD suspects I might have Babesia since we are having trouble battling my Lyme and I just started having severe air hunger, and hot flashes that happen at the same time everyday.

Everyday about 5 PM I get very hot, severe air hunger, and general ill feeling that lasts for a few hours before going away. It leaves me very tired, its like a wave of crap.

I also heard that Babesia is cyclical in nature, so i think my LLMD was right on the money. Also, artemisinin gives me a wild herx.
