Who's using Samento (Cats Claw) as part of their treatment?

Read a interesting article in the Health Science Institute newsletter about Samento.  They say that in a comparitive study group, the group that did the Samento over a 6 month period had a 85% success rate where the people noticed a dramatic improvement. The traditional ABX group was far worse. Does anybody take this as their form of treatment or use it as a supplement with their ABX? The way I understand the article, it has to be the pure form of cats claw known as Samento to work the best. Its a unique extract of cats claw, thats rich in POA ( pentacyclic oxindole alkaloids) and free of TOA (tetracyclic oxindole alkaloids). POA's increase germ killing and TOA's can cancel out the POA's. Most varieties of cats claw that you'll find at health food stores and such typically contain a combination of both reducing its effectiveness. I wish I could leave a link for this complete article, but you have to be a member to acess it. My neighbor gave me a copy of the report. Any experience with this stuff anyone?

Its in my a-bab byron white formula! I fondly refer to it as one of the "power hitters" or the superstar in the formula! If a-bab didn't exist, i would probably try pure cats claw. On a side note, it apparently grows in the desert around here where I live.

is it good for bartonella? does it help with depression? Moral animal, what you taking for bipolar and depression?

a-bart is for bartonella and if i remember correctly, it does not have cats claw in it (you could google byron white formulas to check). A-bab is only for babesia.

I was on lithium for bipolar/depression but am now on tegretol. I was getting lithium poisoning even at super low levels (well below therapeutic values). It has been a challenge to find meds that don't have dairy, gluten, corn and soy in them. But so far I like the tegretol a LOT. Its been 5 months since I started. I have been working hard in private therapy and a DBT group, as well as the work I'm doing at school (which feels like an accelerated crash course in healing one's self.... healer heal thyself!) which has been helping the bipolar, depression, and anxiety just as much or more than the meds.

hi InfectedinFL i see this is a little old, but i have used catsclaw in biofilm protocall.

studying about samento, i think this would be my first herb of choice, tried ordering...but it is not real available. ? one protocall uses it with a bunch of other things that you must buy together, at about $400/month. are you using samento? where do you get it?

do i understand correctly, samento is the root of the catsclaw? that is unclear to me.

the catsclaw is amazing stuff!
