I have been trying to contact a LLMD that will see my almost 3 year old son. His natropath detected a spirochete when she did his live blood draw (nutritional microscopy). I had a few names of some possibilities but I have been transfered to voicemail or busy numbers. We live in PA and was wondering if anyone has any suggestions. Thanks!

Welcome to our forum!! I am so very sorry to hear that your young son has this in his life! I'm sure that you will find us to be a caring, helpful, and understanding group.

It's a wise choice to get in to see a LLMD!! I would suggest using one that is used to treating children, but that's not necessary. I don't know of any LLMD's in the PA area, but we do have a few members that may be able to help.

I would also like to suggest that you read the thread at the top of the forum titled "New to Lyme?...Start here", as it has a whole bunch of info that the members here believe to be really important to know.

I don't believe that it would be too soon to get him detoxing either. In that "New to Lyme?" thread there are full instructions on how to "create" a detox bath, and please don't forget the dry skin brushing daily! I'm sure your NP would agree that they are good things.

Maybe you could tell us a little more about what is going on with your son, we could have more suggestions.

Do you want to treat your son using conventional medicine or natural medicine/alternative?  Funny, after diagnosing myself going by all my symptoms and doing much research, I had a nurse that I knew perform darkfield microscopy and sure enough, I watched my own spirochetes on the monitor... 

Anyway, I became better using alternative medicine (specifically a protocol designed by Dr. Jernigan) that I followed from his original book.  Now he has an updated book called Beating Lyme Disease, 2nd Edition that is excellent!

I always suggest reading Dr. J's books as they are packed full of information and answers.  If you are interested in buying his book let me know and I will post the website.  Dr. J. has helped many little children.  Disclaimer:  I am not affiliated with Dr. J. or Hansa Center in any way or form.

Thank you for all the help, I was off line a bit until I found a pediatric doctor that is lyme literate, I go this week and it is a few hours away so I hope the winter weather holds out but I may be making several trips.  

I currently give my son environmental detox clay baths weekly and epsom salt bath daily. The natropath advised me to keep him on some earthborn products brand colloidal silver and cats claw until he sees the lyme doctor. I had been taking him to the natropath for his sensory processing disorder and he went gluten/milk free, did parasite cleanses and he improved then we added colloidal silver and I told her he improved more and once I gave him grapefruitseed extract and he spoke-so she did another microscopy and showed me the the bacteria on his cells and what she believed was a spirochete.  I hope to know more about the course of treatment however the natropath feels that if we remove the lyme he may not have the sensory issues.

Along with locating a LLMD you couldn't find a better or more expert place for help and answers to your questions than here.

To numerous to mention, but my heartfelt thanks go out to all of them.

 Forgot to mention I live in Glen Mills, PA

about 20 miles from Philadelphia. FYI There is a LLMD in Chadds Ford, PA about 10 minutes from where I live.

Ksole, how is it going with your son?
So it looks like your naturopath is saying you need abx to treat the bacteria? There are some other naturopaths who treat with abx which still makes me believe this is not a 100% natural remedy solution for everyone although there is relief kn these remedies and detoxing.

One thing either way I wanted to add to the mix is I know of at least 3 long time Lyme doctors who say no magnesium and found that their patients were relapsing because of it.
This includes Epsom salt baths.

If you google FryLabs and read his work on this and ask your current and new doctor.

I use no magnesium for a year now. And before this I was using it all the time and I think while it helped with sleep and constipation I think it made Lyme symptoms worse.

I just had blood work done and my magnesium is fine . Lyme eats up magnesium and feeds off it.
My doctor said I will get enough out of food .

Keep us posted...no doubt your son isn't only little boy in PA with Lyme. It's another hot spot.

We are in a big snow storm here but managed to see a very helpdul Dr gave me an igenex test kit adn I have to call my local labs to see if they will fill the order and then I will overnight it.

The dr showed me and my husband some tick samples today (dead) and we were amazed at how small they were!

I am going to call her back after I get the blood taken and she will call me with the results in 3 weeks when she gets them.

I will check on magnesium, is it ok if it in you multi vitamin? my son takes one twice a day. Thanks !

I would like to add an update for my son with lyme induced autism we have been treating LIA for 1 year (first with only naturals) and after 8 months of antibiotic therapy with an ILADS trained peditrician my son is VERY social and speaks nonstop ! I feel he is picking up where the lyme took over when he was about 18 months old. There is hope and we are seeing a very social Hyper ACTIVE little boy who now attends ABA thereapy, we are continuing to treat and now I am awiting the Igenex results for my 7 year old daughter.
