HI Lynnoftoas!!
Welcome to our forum!!! I am so sorry to hear all of what you have been through!! I believe you have come to the right place though, as you will find us a caring, understanding, and helpful group!!
One of the most important things you need to do now is to learn, learn all that you can possibly learn about
the tick-borne infections that you have. You need to become your own health advocate.
The members here created a thread that stays at the top of our forum titled, "New to Lyme?...Start Here!" that is packed full of great information and some very useful links. It would be the best place to start learning.
IMHO - It sounds like when you got home & started abx, that you experienced what is known as a 'Herx'. The proper name is the Jarrisch-Herxheimer Reaction if you want to look further into it. In a nut shell, a herx is when your symptoms suddenly get worse or new
symptoms appear because of the die-off of bacteria. The bacteria produces toxins as it dies, so in order to lessen this reaction, you should be detoxing. There is a great post in the thread "New to Lyme?" that explains some simple ways to detox - most likely you already have most, if not all, of the things needed!!
The detox bath with Epsom salts & peroxide should help with the itching & feeling of something being under your skin. I had those symptoms (& many more) as well. It is not an unusual symptom for tick-borne infections.
You mentioned that you lost quite a bit of weight, may I ask why? Are you having trouble eating? or is there another reason? What abx are you on & at what dosage each day?
Please feel free to ask questions, vent a little, & share your experiences.
I hope thishelps a bit,
Trav
