Although I like the idea, too, of blending my own fruits and veggies into a drink, for now it just isn't going to happen.
For one thing, in our area the two health food stores usually do not have a good selection of organic fruits and veggies, what they do have looks bad, plus they're ridiculously expensive. Good news is that a Whole Foods is being built (hopefully will
open in the Fall).
Thought I'd share this option for others who may be in my shoes. I started drinking concentrated green food supplements about
six weeks ago and like the results.
Although the container says "once a day" or more...I starting drinking the "greens" three times a day.
I switch between two...just because of the different benefits they have to offer...although I am probably going to just end up with "Green Vibrance" as it is far superior than other "greens" out there (as far as what I've read).
I drink "Green Vibrance" morning and evening and "Amazing Grass" lunch time. Green Vibrance does not taste good to me; I mix it and swallow it right down in as few gulps as possible.

Amazing Grass tastes some better. (You can google the two and read all the good stuff in them--all the benefits for our nutrition, digestion, circulation, and immunity--and also read reviews.)
I like the results I'm experiencing, so it is well worth the taste for the few seconds it takes me to drink it. Beginning on the second day, I noticed increased energy and I've had increased energy ever since!
PS: I do appreciate the info on the blenders. Thanks all! We had one a few years back that was a pain to clean...so we rarely used it. When we do get one we want one that is powerful/does the job and is definitely easy to clean!
