I feel the PAIN every morning. It seems to be getting worse. My MD is sending me to an arthritis MD.? I went out of respect for my MD who said I had lyme the minute I called him last July to tell him of my 104.5 fever. I was in bed for a week, and on Doxy for 14 days. I asked the arthritis MD why should I be here? She replied that lyme can bring on other illnesses. OK fine...more blood tests. I suggested to her that I hold off on the test to see if my other 3 Dr's would like to ad to the blood test...she said "good idea" who's the Doctor?
I'm on my second 30 day Doxycycline treatment. I feel like s#@t every day. I am seeing my Orthopedic Dr tomorrow, and a infectious disease specialist on Tuesday (I set this appt up myself). Here is the youtube link I posted after my third procedure with Orthopedic Dr.

I'm in Fairfield, Connecticut. When will I be better? Any ideas? Am I doing all the right things? Any info on LLMD's in my area.
I am a cyclist, and now have stopped for over 2 months. I want to get back on my bike asap. Help..Ernie rolleyes rolleyes rolleyes

Welcome to our forum!!! I am so sorry that you have a need to be here, but I am sure glad you found us!!!

I watched the video & appropriately got the willies as I watched!!! I had knee surgery many years ago & still have that reaction!!! Eww!! smhair

What I would suggest first is to staartn ow & learn all that you can about the infections that you have. You can start right here on HW, by reading the thread at the top of the forum titled, "New to Lyme?...Start Here!" as it is packed full of really great information that the members here have helped to put together as well as some really terrific links!

In the "New to Lyme?" thread, the thrid post down you will find info on how to detox. It's not hard or complicated to do, but is essential in my opinion, as your body is overloaded with toxins at this point. This should ease some of your pain & discomfort as well.

We also have a search function that makes gleaning info from past posts easier.

I would like to suggest that you get in to see a Lyme-literate Medical Doc (LLMD) and not see the others for your tick-borne infections, as there are very few docs other than LLMD's who actually understand how to treat them properly. Tick-borne infections are complicated even to the scientists!

I want to add that the detoxing can be very helpful as it was to my husband. The baths and the foot baths, particularly, were helpful.

(I could not convince him to do the body brushing, however.)

If this stubborn man, however, admitted benefit from the body soaks and foot soaks, that is a positive feedback for sure.

Welcome. Best thing to do is get away from infectious disease dr. and get to LLMD. Treatment, diet and exercise are all important but having a doctor who understands the disease is crucial. Infectious disease drs. have a totally eroneous insight into lyme. There is so little known about this disease you need someone who is continuing to learn about it and not one who dismisses it exist in its chronic form. Don't do what i did and waste time and get worse. Best to you.
