purple scratch marks

My 23 year old daughter also has these purple marks under her skin that come and go.  Our doctor seems to think it is due to the bartonella.  However he has said that he has only seen a couple of patients who have the marks that appear and disappear.  These marks are more visible than the blanching areas I talked about on another post. They do look like bloody scratches.  When her pain is so unbearable these marks will appear.  They may be there for a few hours or a few days.  Mostly, however, just a few hours. 

These areas are under the skin and when you rub you hand across them  you will feel nothing.  Only the marks are visible but they are not raised or anything like that. 

Has anyone else experienced this?  I feel like I am going to fall apart.  I know that all of you are hurting as well.  I guess this is the reason I very seldom write.  Sometimes just reading the posts is all I can bare.  I suffer from heart disease so I tend to feel so bad when I stress to much.

Thank you for replying you are so very kind.

The marks are sometimes red in color.  Just like scractches.  Just unreal how they can just appear and disappear so quickly.  We were able to take a great photo of the last really big spot.  It looked very purple like she had been punched in the back and by the second day it was beginning to disappear and by the 3rd completely gone.  We were at the doctor's office on the second day.  I felt very fortunate that he was able to see at that particular time.  He just said its bartonella and started her on meds for that. 

She is now taking Malarone, levaquin, and bactrum.  The Malarone and levaquin are both new meds for her.  She also takes coopers complete, theralac, vit b-12 shots(which she says help with her nerve pain), Vit C and D,   celexa, and others
