Hi Hi-mama! LOL I'm getting a tickle at being able to say that!!! LOL!
Okay, back to being a little more serious!! Yes, I have had a lot of back pain - but not so much now that I'm in treatment. Oh, yes the skin sensitivity! That really is the pits! I couldn't hardly wear clothes sometimes! What I did for the skin sensitivity is I started dry skin brushing - only I used a wet washcloth at first and I could only stand to do this every few days. I was able to work up to using a wet washcloth every day, so I advanced to a dry washcloth. Then to a very soft body brush. Here is the type of brush you are looking for, although you can get it much cheaper at Walmart or other discount store:

Is your daughter detoxing? This should help her reduce some of the severity of her symptoms. Just be careful not to rush into it too quickly, as this can bring on more symptoms, or make the symptoms that she is having worse. If you need info on what to do and how to do it, we have a very informative post in the "New to Lyme?" thread at the top of the forum - it's the third post down. I would suggest that if she hasn't been detoxing, she start with the foot soak of epsom salts and peroxide.
I can't tell you what acupuncture doc to see, but if you would like to email me (click the little envelope under my name here), I could share some info and some acupuncture sites so that you are better informed when you start looking into seeing an Acupuncture Doc, like what kinds of schooling and qualifications you will want to verify.
Yes, a person can use both abx and herbs. There are actually more and more LLMD's that are using herbs along with the abx treatments. Although, abx are not always necessary. I am having some great results with just herbs, a couple of Homeopathic meds, and acupuncture. It mostly depends on your preferences, and what doc you see.
Tell your daughter to hang in there! There really is hope! Maybe one day soon, she will feel up to reading posts on her own, then one day maybe she will feel up to posting - once she starts to find some relief.
And, we can help you to get her to that point with all of our suggestions and hints! You are doing a great job!!!
