Congrats on getting treated! I have to disagree with your doc's perspective on co-infections. If a parasite lab hadn't seen the babesia in my red blood cells under the microscope, I would not have even suspected a tick bourne illiness. I had nearly forgotten about having a tick on my head for 3 days at age 14, since at that age, I didn't even know what a tick was. My friends said they thought it was a tick (after the fact), but the extent of their knowledge of ticks consisted of "you can't crush them, but you can burn them." Not very helpful, really!
