Just Need to Vent

Ugh. Try to hang in there. It is a terrible terrible feeling. I used to sit at my desk in work and just count to pass the time as my head would feel like itwas going to explode and then get in the car and cry until I got to my son's school and had to stop so he wouldn't see me. It is so hard to explain to people what this disease does to you. It sounds like you have a buildup of toxins in the brains?. Make sure you are detoxing and drinking lots of lemon water. Also, rest as much as possible. For some reason, it would just set my mind at ease and allow me to start fresh for the next part of the day. Whatever you do, do not doubt yourself and believe others. Only you know how you feel and if it is horrible, pamper yourself.

Yeah, the dr. this morning said you're healthy (obviously didn't look at the chart - rather thick), and told me it was psychological (took my neurologist 4 years to come to that conclusion)... and that blacking out is ok... bull

I'm going to see if my friend can drive me to the hospital tonight.

I had done a stress test - when I exercise it feels like my heart rate shoots up and takes forever to go back down - but like everything else... showed up "normal".

*slept through 2 classes, gave up on my test in a 3rd (would've gotten an A if I wasn't so... Idk), just fell asleep during my last one (had a talk with the teacher afterwards who was like "Go to the hospital!"

On a positive note, my friend gave me pure coffee (french vanilla with lots of sugar) - stopped/prevented twitching lol

I agree with Springsjean - the E-room isn't a friendly place for those infected with Lyme and other tick-borne infections! I believe that there is only a very small handful of E-room docs that would even recognize a Bulls eye rash for what it really is.

You really need to talk with your LLMD - if you have one. If you don't, then I can't stress highly enough that you need to find one! Lyme does affect the heart, but only a LLMD will know how to handle it.

Can't hurt that's for sure but don't talk yourself into believing there is nothing wrong with you because nothing shows up. I hope nothing is wrong but most of us here have been told repeatedly that nothing was wrong when it was lyme. Most lyme cognitive problems from the brain won't show up on any cat scan or mri. Be kind to yourself and rest as much as possible.

By ER standards (immediate problems) I was fine, however they did actually pick up on a couple of things. Apparently, I'm rather dehydrated, extremely exhausted, and (the biggest thing of all) had really low K (enough so to be the cause of my recent nervous system malfunctions)... I was told (if nothing's broken) there's only 2 reason why you'd lose your balance and fall down: hit your head or neurons aren't firing off properly. Obviously the neurons weren't being properly fired off. I was given something with K - feel a lot better.

Your diet is doing you more harm than good, really!! You need to be on whole grains, vegetables, nuts and higher protein. As long as you are on such a low fiber high processed carb diet, you are going to feel very bad, and unnecessarily so.

I know it is hard to have control over what you eat when you are in college, but this is really important. For Lyme patients, what we eat is as important as what we take in the way of medicine -- it is part of our medicine, in a way.

Absolutely do your best with your diet, as Achievinggrace has said it plays a huge part for us. Oatmeal is a really good food though!!! And avoiding food poisoning is definitely a step in the right direction!

Detox, detox, detox!! Even if it's just the foot bath, it'll help. Drink the lemon water. These are the most basic things we can do for ourselves and they really do make a difference!

Just using one multi at a time would be much better!!! You really do need to take one. Keep on trying until you find one that you can use. Another small thing that will go a long way in helping you to feel better - it does take a couple of months usually before we feel much from them, so stick with them.

Sure glad that your head is feeling better!!!

Would you remind me - are you seeing a LLMD?

Ohhh, best of luck with that!! I have ovarian cysts all too often, and those are definitely no fun as some have been quite large. Please be sure to let us know what the doc has to say about it!

Please remember though that you are dealing with doctors who either know nothing of TBI's, or know very little about them. Please don't let any of them put you on any kind of steroid.

Funny they told you that you have a bacterial infection!!! That's a no-brainer!!!

As for the pain, well I've discovered that I have a high pain tolerance as well (I think a lot of us do, otherwise we would all live at pain clinics! Research has determined that we are in as much pain as post-op patients!!). Although this does not stop the body from saying enough is enough! I believe that when you are suffering with chronic pain - like most of us do- that your body - as opposed to your mind in dealing with the pain- will still only have a certain tolerance level.

In other words - a person can go along living with a certain level of pain, and although that persons mind is dealing with the pain, the body may have a different, uncontrollable reaction. For me, it's constipation and then my nausea will really ramp up, making me retreat to the bed until I can get everything back under control - which usually take 3 days. For that reason, I won't just ignore my pain levels. When they start getting up there, I stop and take my pain meds so that the pain doesn't 'get away from' me, so that I remain in control of what my body is living with as much as possible.
But....that's just my 2¢ worth!!!

LOL!! I use acupuncture so that's rather funny!!!
