So, I got all my tests done. (am having palpitations, irregular beat and pain)...not so good results. The ultrasound showed my mitro valve is abnormally thick and is leaking slightly. It isn't bad enough for them to do anything about. I just have to get it checked every year to make sure it isn't getting worse.

But, they don't think that is what is causing my symptoms, so now I have to wear another monitor. This one for 14-30 days. Then if they don't find anything wrong I have to get a heart cath. I'm really scared about that!

Do you guys think that the lyme caused my heart problems? I mean, does that happen? Or is this totally unrelated?

My heart problems (palpitations, arrhythmia, angina, T wave inversion, and general squireliness) have all been laid at the door of Lyme.

So one test will come back with a problem but the next test comes up clean. I've had two heart caths done that revealed nothing but squeaky clean arteries. Even so they wanted me to take a bunch of meds like a cholesterol reducer and aspirin and something else. totally unnecessary. If it weren't for my husband insisting, I would not have stayed and had that second heart cath done.

Several months on, now, my heart issues have totally settled down. I hope you find that is the same for you with your continued treatment.

I'm so sorry for what you're going through - it does sound scary, and stressful. I hope this all ends well.

The only input I can give you is that I firmly believe that my heart problems - whatever they are - are caused by Lyme. Aside from having this illness I am in perfect health (ironic, right?). I had an echo done today and my heart valves were noted as beautiful. Yet I have violent chest pain on a daily basis, as well as palpitations and arrhythmia, and extremely low blood pressure. I'm wearing a monitor now, so we'll see if anything interesting shows up. All I know is the chest pain and trouble breathing are always worse when the Lyme's worse, and I can't imagine any other reason for all of this as my diet is really good and I exercise and there's no family history of any heart disease....I don't know what that's worth but I'm with achievinggrace in hoping that this all resolves itself for you. Good luck with everything.

Borderlylme...i hope you figure out what is going on with you as well. This just sucks:(
achieving grace...I am so afraid that I am going to go through the whole heart cath deal for no reason as well. But, I am also afraid not to get it done, ya know? Oh well, we shall see.
