Dr. Barrascano 2008 diagnostic hints and treatment guidelines

Hi pinda, what are your symptoms of Babesia and did you test positive for it? My LLND thinks I may have it b/c I primarily have bladder problems. But I don't seem to have a lot of the other associated symptoms ( and I have not seen bladder listed as one of them on the sites I have looked).

On Dr Charles Ray Jones (LLMD and researcher) site, he lists urinary problems as an issue of Bartonella. Whereas for Babesia, only dark urine is listed as a possible symptom.

Hi twinkle,  I was positive for Babesia from IgeneX labs and lyme disease.  Babesia was the only co-infection suggested to be tested because of my neurological symptoms, night sweats, cough.  Was one other but cannot remember which of the many I have.  Was told Babesia is treated first because Lyme disease cannot be treated until free of Babesia.  A ND who can prescibe antibiotics is seeing me plus I hope my primary MD will be on board too.  See her next week.  Started antibiotics Tues.  On Mepron for 3 weeks to start and Azighromycin 5 days on 5 days off.  Apparently it stays in your body so do not have to take more than 5 days at a time.  On  HMF, probiotic, too.  Will see what happens the next 3 weeks.  Any advice from others who have been on these antibiotics is appreciated.  Reading over the Guidlines is helping to clear some things up but creates other questions. Linda
