Urgently Seeking East Coast LLMD Who I Can See in Near-Term

Hi,

I'm new to Lyme- bitten and became ill in September. I'm having trouble finding a recommended LLMD I can get in with in the near-term. I've made an appointment with a recommended doc for April and I'm on multiple waiting lists, but I think it's very important that I see someone in the meantime- I've reached the end of the road with standard primary care and ID doctors and need help as I'm extremely sick and out of work.

Welcome any recommendations for LLMDs who people recommend, and yet who could also see me in the near-term. DC/VA/MD or NJ/Philadelphia/NYC areas would be best, but I'll travel. Thanks so much!

I'm not able to send you an e-mail since it is listed as unavailable, but I see an LLMD near Philadelphia. It took almost 2 months to get the initial appointment, but that seems a bit better than waiting 4 months! You can Google "Haverford Wellness Center." It is not a "quiet" practice like some others - Haverford clearly advertises that they specialize in Lyme Disease treatments so I hope it is not a problem if I post the office name on here. If it's against the rules, mods, feel free to remove it.

I haven't been going there long, but the treatment plan seems like a good one and he has been very thorough and straight-forward with me.

Dr S. In Reston is very good and uses hyperbaric therapy. Dr J in Gaithersburg MD is good and takes insurance. Hope this helps.

It might help if you stated your location.. I would recommend my Doc, but I'm assuming it would be a drive. Hes in NE Pennsylvania.

Welcome to the forum! I'm sorry to hear you've been ill. Have you been diagnosed with Lyme?

The waiting period can be very frustrating, I know. Doctors vary on how long it takes to get an appointment - I was lucky to get in with mine in just a couple of weeks. You mentioned NJ as one of your possible locations, so feel free to email me if you're interested in more information about my LLMD.

You will want to find an ILADS (International Lyme And Associated Diseases Society) doctor. The ILADS site is a great place to read to get you started on your Lyme journey.

Thanks so much for the replies so far. I live in Washington DC so doctors in the DC/VA/MD area would be best, but I also spend time in Southern NJ and Philadelphia so someone in that area would work too.
