So... it's been pretty quiet around here the last few days...maybe too quiet. I had too much time on my hands and came up with a question for my Mom. No this doesn't have anything to do with TBI's! snicker, snicker...

So I called my Mom and asked her if she had heard the phrase "The older I get, the smarter my mother is"? "Of course" she said (in a cautious tone - giggle), so I asked "How old do I have to be, before you really, truly, literally know it all?????"

Once she quit giggling, she said that she hadn't reached that point yet, because she wasn't sure when that would be!! turn

I just had to share!!! Aren't you glad?? Giggle, giggle!!! smilewinkgrin

Ya supposed to be resting today, silly girl.

Looks like that is what most of us might be doing today.

I have no idea why some people are out there shopping again tho (or even exchanging for that matter)

Made me laugh out loud.  Too quiet, more time to eat!  OMG.  If I eat another thing, I am going to burst.  so would you stop talking about snickers.

I've been in my quiet place all day - the day after Christmas is always my favorite day of the year - I get to stay in my PJs and read whatever new books Santa brought for me :)

I'm now halfway through Dr. Jernigan's Beating Lyme Disease which is filling my head with questions for tomorrow's doctor visit!

What do you think about Dr. Jernigan's book Borderlyme?? I am about halfway through it too, and my daughter and I are headed there for 2 weeks starting this coming Monday! I am cautiously optimistic about Hansa and his treatments!!

Does this mean that if I am a mother, I am also getting smarter every day??!! :-) And, if so, when will I actually FEEL that way??!!

I'm liking it so far! I've heard a lot about it here so I had to read it for myself! I have to admit I don't really understand the specifics of it, hard as I try, but I really like his approach. I think it's great that you're going there - I can't wait to hear how it works out for your daughter! I've heard a lot of really great things so it sounds like you've got a lot to look forward to.

I totally get the "cautiously optimistic" thing. I've tried so many things, been told so many different theories on why I'm sick that all made perfect sense...for a while there I was afraid to get my hopes up that recovery is possible, which I think is pretty normal when dealing with a confusing and controversial illness. But optimism is half (okay, maybe not half!) the battle!

I think a lot of doctors and researchers are all onto a lot of great insights and ideas. It's a bit frustrating that there's no one size fits all treatment (how much easier would that be!?) and I think in one sense we're fortunate to have so many options available to us. Personally I think finding a treatment that resonates with you and your beliefs is really important...and it sounds like you're on your way!

And a happy HEALTHY, HEALTHY, HEALTHY new year to you too :)

There are a whole lot of things beginning to happen with the recognition of the need to allow our docs to treat us with high dose, long term abx and by other means - as well as on the research front - both researching for treatments and for better understanding of not only the scope of how wide spread all of this really is, but also researching for better, more effective treatments!!

Lol I shall say this to my mom. I am amazed at how as a young girlI laughed at all of the things she liked and did. I am there now; I hope my girl sticks to her writing!!!

I use reading as"treatment" but not disease books. I take a pill curl up heating pad and read a real good read, somthing literary, makes me think of things other than disease. I am almost done with Beloved by toni Morrison, I also find Joyce Meyer to be a good place for me to go too..

When I kicked this once I did it by only positive affirmations..
