For basic over-the-counter magnesium, I'm taking 750 mgs am and pm. I'm a lot closer to the 150 lb mark than you are, but that shouldn't make much difference. You should really should be taking magnesium to "bowel tolerance" anyway. You start off with a small dose and build up slowly -only increasing the dose by 1 pill/ every two days - until it makes you get a slight case of diarrhea. Then back down one pill at a time until things clear up.
