3 weeks into IV treatment and my eye floaters, which have been really bothersome for a year or so, are suddenly much worse. I can't read for very long, because the swirling storm of dots and squigglies is too irritating. Reading a computer monitor is even worse, as the brighter screen makes it even harder to ignore all the activity in the background. I'm following up with a neuro-opthamologist tomorrow, but he didn't see anything noteworthy he could help with during my last visit and they were pretty bad then; I don't expect him to be able to help this time either.
I can't do much around the house, so reading is a necessity for me to stay sane. I've tried lowering the brightness on the monitor, turning the lights down, wearing sunglasses, etc and though it reduces how visible the floaters are, they all seem to make reading more fatiguing (I'm assuming my eyes have to work harder to read darker material). Can anyone give me a tip or two for minimizing the irritation and distraction from excessive floaters?
