I just saw an LLMD and he has saved my life. I had blood work and other tests that prove I have a biotoxin illness, either allergies to mold or Lyme disease but based on my symptoms I may have Bartonella. This has already started killing me! I haven't taken any medication yet but I was prescribed a detox med that is usually for high cholesterol and Losartan which is a bp medication. I need more blood work for a specific dx. I called my PCP wanting a sleep study test but they found out I was getting all this blood work from my LLMD and they were telling me he is a PCP so I couldn't see him. He has taken his time usually but just hearing about this doctor, he immediately sent out a letter wanting to remove me from the entire medical group, meaning I'd lose my pain management doctor also. I don't mind losing my PCP because he doesn't help me besides giving me weekly iv fluids but my pm doctor has been so helpful and I am on pain meds, without them I'd be screaming in pain everyday. I am finally on the right path on getting better and it's like they refuse that I do. My pm doc was even interested in my Lyme results... so I definitely want to keep him, he's been providing me injections in my back for my arthritis and bone spurs. I can't believe they can just drop me like this. My mom has been on the phone trying to deal with this and I emailed my LLMD but beyond that, I don't know how to really handle this situation. Any advice?

pcp=personal care provider?
are they one and the same with medical group

who is he in this description and which dr are you reffering to as "just hearing bout this dr"

PCP, Primary Care Physician. What I meant by hearing about this doctor was my LLMD who is pretty well known actually and was even featured in a documentary for Lyme and other magazines/newspapers. My PCP and PM doctor are in the same medical group. My PCP sent the letters and wants me to redraw from the entire medical group but once we called them they said he can't make me leave my other doctor but even though he has no proof of me seeing this LLMD, he is for sure redrawing me. How can he do that? We think we have it figured out. My PCP had a patient that had a biotoxin illness, she ended up dying because she was in such a late stage, that is my PCP's reputation. My LLMD told me about this and she was a patient of his for a very short while. Just goes to show that you CAN'T wait on this because this is life or death. We think that he doesn't want me as a patient because if I were to die because of this, it would hurt his reputation even more, so he was quick to tuck his tail and hide.

yea i doubt they have any legal grounds to force you to leave the group..can you change PCP's and send a letter to the AMA board..and your Medical group telling them that this is an abuse of his professional license and confidentiality..he has no authority to determine standards of care and I do think you should sue his little pompous ***...seriously

these drs,,,what they lack in professional competence, they make up in chutzpah

go on yelp and rate him as an IDIOT

Yes he is a man, a terrible terrible man! His personally is all smiley and giggly but he dictates your medical care. I will be sending a letter to the medical group complaining about him, I will be posting reviews all over websites. There still isn't even a written reason that he dropped me, nothing in the withdrawal letter. If it's possible to sue him, I most definitely will. I don't know if I can though.

did he put anything in writing..there are verty strict laws about what a dr can and cannot do

and as always consideer the ramifications to yourself..but this sort ofv stuff makes me spew red,

these little bully people that run the medical profession and thinkt hey alone are god in determining
what is proper

Here's the letter that he sent, this is the only thing I got. Ha, they even spelled my name wrong... Gee, after so many years you'd think they'd have that right at least.

"Dear Ms. *****

Medical Group finds it necessary to inform you that we are withdrawing from proving further medical treatment for you. Unfortunately, we are no longer able to maintain an effective patient/physician relationship. Please consider this as notice to establish with a new physician within 30 days of the date of this letter.

Please complete, sign and return to us the enclosed Authorization for Release of Medical Information. Upon receipt, we will provides copies of your medical records to your new physician. If after 30 days you require emergency care and have not established with a new physician, please contact the nearest emergency room.

THIS DISCHARGE COVERS ALL PHYSICIANS FROM MEDICAL GROUP"

Then he just signed it, no other information. That is it!

so he signed the letter on behalf of this group which is the medicaL group right..i doubyt he has authrity to do this, only your medical group can make this decision...i think you can make his life He** and should

my guess is cause he thought you were a young person, he could bully you..this is so common with these guys

and from what you said earlier he has no authority over you being in or outta the group, he is just some paper pushin-pill poppin little man right

i mean this letter is implying that he is sort of blacklisting you from this group for no aparent reason. i would think abouyt this for a whiole..maybe write him back and say can you clarify Dr why you are withdrawing your services and withholding treatment (cc the local AMA, and anyone else,,tv stations,e tc

at the very least this is attempt to threaten you and show you who is the Boss

think about it think before you do anything and discuss with your family..its this sort of stuff we have to stand up for an fight otherwise one day soon we will wake up and have to go to a dr to even get supplements and believe it or not this proposal is on the desk of the FDA..why cause drs are whining they are not making money!!!

the new health care proviison actually made it make more sense and be cheaper for people to take a higher deductible and minimize their office visits, as it should...it is causing people to be more accountable for their health
and avoid the doctor...be one step closer to not even needing a dr unless its life and death as most are morons anyway

We are writing the complaint letter but we are also going to write him a personal letter, his address is in the phone book. He thinks he can bully me but you don't mess with me, this isn't a game, this is my life.... I am aware of things most patients are not and I'm smart and do my research and we are going to do the best we can to get to him.

Actually, Emichuu, lots of PCP's retreat quickly when Lyme disease is mentioned. I know that the first doc that told me I had Lyme back peddled pretty fast when I mentioned this to him 2 years later! He actually got mad at me for saying that he was the first one to tell me!!

You can most definitely appeal this, but are you sure you want to? Since he can't keep you from seeing your pain management doc, are you sure you want a doc that doesn't want to stand with you involved with your care?

I understand your anger, I promise, but are you sure the stress that you will be under while filing all of the papers, and dealing with people that don't want your business, and possibly even going to court will be worth it? Stress is a really bad thing for those of us infected with these infections.

I would encourage you to take this time to find another PCP, verify with the medical group whether or not you can still use your PM doc, and if not just find another one. The stress could pull you backwards in your healing is the only reason I am saying this. We need to pick our battles very carefully.

well i agree wth traveler about picking our battles

however this was a deliberate attempt to intimidate and coerce you, a threat effectively;

and if at some point those of us who can and able, do not stand up to this tyranny, very soon there will be no LLMD's or alternative medicine docs and we will all be goose step marching at lunch to the sounds of PREUSENS GLORIA, while the FDA-AMA-ADA conspire to charge us $250 for 15 minutes to get a prescription for Vitamin C.

As well, as I get better, I sleep much better when i smack someone back (figuratively speaking of course) who has attempted to victimize me..its empowering

I also want to say so sorry you're going through this!!

I would also be a total wreck without my pain meds. Heck, I'm a wreck ON THEM. Sometimes they do very little for me while other days they alow me to actually push through the pain. But I surely wouldn't want to lose them.

Will your LLMD work with you to prescribe you pain meds? I have to agree with Traveler when she says are you sure you want to work it out after he did that to you?? Surely there are other drs who will write you a script for pain meds.
