Okay, so I stopped seeing my LLMD in San Francisco and started seeing an integrative doctor (who does ABX and natural treatments). I love my new doctor.
I had been on ABX a year and then after a short course of Flagyl that is still causing me issues, I decided to pursue another route. The ABX over the last year made a huge difference in me however, at this time, I've decided that I'm going to change things up.
So, this new doctor (who also specializes in Lyme and is sits on a number of boards, etc.) wanted me off the lyme abx. He ran tons and tons of other tests and it's probably no surprise, but I have a very high Staph infection and also, I have another virus that the numbers are off the charts on. I thinks it's called cytomagalie virus (sp?). Anyway, so I'm taking a specific nose spray that was made at a compounding place and sent to me for the Staph infection and then, we start tacking the next step. He tackles everything in layers....one layer at a time.
I have to say that I've been feeling pretty amazing lately (except for my stomach/mild reflux issues caused by the flagyl which seems to be SLOWLY getting better). I'm feeling sooo optomistic about my new doctor and am very excited.
Oh....he ran some genetic testing and it turns out that I have a predisposition to not handle molds very well. So...I'm sure that he will also tackle that too.
So...in light of all of this, I still have a ways to go with my health, but I'm so confident that I'm on my way. I realize that I may have to go back on ABX at some point, but I'm hoping that once these other issues are taken care of that my immune system will be able to fight the bugs on it's own.
Yesterday, I fired up my rife machine for the first time in a long time and intend to do that at least every other day.
Anyway, just wanted to update everyone! Hope you are all making progress in your battle against this very ugly disease!
