Lyme Symptom or Asthma?

Hi Everyone! I am new here, but have been diagnosed with Lyme Disease for 6 years. Relapsing on and off since then.

I have a question that I am wondering if anyone here would be able to answer. Over the past week or so, I've had a lot of chest tightness, and burning in my throat, which in turn is making me short of breath.

I'm starting to suspect asthma, but I don't have a noticeable cough or any wheezing. It's worse when I am walking around, and sometimes I feel out of breath in my throat when I am talking.

No one in my life has had a symptom like this, so I am hoping maybe someone here may have the answer.

*Edit* - I also have had a tickle in my throat that has been driving me crazy, making things worse.

I sounds like it may be acid reflux. I'm having the same issues. Someone posted on the gerd board back to me that they had lyme and this same feeling but was it was was some kind of spasams or something caused by the lyme. They said it cleared after being on ABX...

I don't know..I just wish it would go away!

Have you ever been evaluated for babesia? Often times Lyme disease that does not respond well to treatment means that babesia is in the mix according to Dr. B. It causes some breathing symptoms (air hunger).

I am hoping it is GERD, but I guess I figured it couldn't be that since it doesn't seem to subside for long. Even my upper chest right under my collarbone feels very tight.

Hi Summer,

I tested negative for Babesia and all co infections, but I have taken Arteminisin before, and I believe I did herx from it.
