Hello.

I've been researching the lab tests available at IGenX, Inc. I can see why the Lyme (Bb) testing is different there than at traditional labs. However, what about coinfection testing? Are all labs created equal when looking for erlichia, babesia, etc? The IGenX tests are expensive and my insurance won't cover them, so I'm trying to get done as much as I can with my regular ID doctor. Any info would be great.

Directly from my experience; the standard labs did not detect my Ehrlichia infection, but Igenex did.

However, the Babesia didn't show up on either and my LLMD treated for it from the clinical presentation.

Most LLMD's will treat according to symptoms and reactions to treatment. Perhaps if you just view these tests as a guide rather than definite proof, it would be more useful to you.
