If you would like to continue on the natural route, you should try your daughter on Motherwort tincture if she is have the heart palps and 'heart in the throat' feelings. Because my anxiety doesn't respond to thing well either, I also use Avena Sativa tincture (a specific type of wild oats), as it acts directly on the nerves, calming and soothing them. I take both of these things three times a day for my anxiety.
I use Valerian, magnesium and melatonin at night before bed.

Should you choose to go with pharmaceuticals, please remember when your daughter is ready to come off of them, that she will need to wean herself off of them most likely. There are a lot of people that once they start taking things like anti-anxiety and antidepressant medications, their bodies become dependent on those drugs. I'm one of them. I'm going through the weaning process to come off an old antidepressant that I was using for sleep- Trazodone. No fun!
