You will want to find an ILADS (International Lyme And Associated Diseases Society) doctor. The ILADS site is a great place to read to get you started on your Lyme journey.

There are a couple great naturopaths in this area. I see one who is in the Lafayette, but also has an office in Marin. She works for a human dynamo of Lyme!

hi, live oak. i saw the well known LLMD in SF who did my initial testing and gave me my dx. he is amazing, kind and highly respected, but since i am allergic to the abx he would have prescribed, and he doesn't do natural/herbal therapy for lyme & co-infections, i sought treatment elsewhere. if i could take abx, i would have stuck with him to see if the abx worked before going to the naturopath. (incidentally, i do feel very good about my naturopath, as well. i got really lucky.)

i can't speak to the specific abx he prescribes, but i do recall my friend saying something about flagyl at one point for cyst busting.

if you call the SF LLMD to make an appointment and are flexible with your schedule, there is a strong likelihood that you will get in sooner due to cancellations. i originally was scheduled for april 2011, but got in a week after i made my appointment in january 2011 thanks to a cancellation. i know another member of this board had the same experience with scheduling.

I realize this thread is outdated since 2012 and it is now August 2018. I hope to still find help. Can anyone please message me a good recommendation on a LLMD in the South Bay Area? Preferably one that accepts Health Insurance. I only found one person online and they only take cash/credit and the initial consultation was quoted as $1000.

Girlie email me who you have in the South Bay. The only ones I know of in the South Bay I wouldn't recommend. They call themselves Lyme Literate because the do ozone but know next to nothing about Lyme.
