Could some of you members describe how you feel after a detox bath?  I am sure it is all individual.  Two hours after the bath I became EXTREMELY weak....more so than my normal weakness.  This was my first detox bath and I only put in 2 cups of epsom salts and 16 oz. of hydrogen peroxide and soaked for 10 minutes in 98 degree water.  By the way, is that the proper amount of products to put in the bath water?  This site states using alot more but I think I have seen other members using the lower dose.  Also, how much lemon do I put in a bottle of water?  Do we really have to brush for 20 minutes?  I think my skin will become raw if done on a daily basis.

I really know where you are coming from,I've been trying to do these baths for weeks and they knock me out!
I prefer to do the foot baths every day and save the BIG baths for the weekend.As to body brushing,I started off with 5 minutes and gradually worked my way up.I glad to say I am feeling the benefits and I've not managed to skin myself yet.

I feel weak after the baths too - they do seem to help though. I get the same thing with sauna - maybe it's from sweating so much, or the high heat? You could try drinking something to replace electrolytes right after and see if maybe that helps. Or maybe make the water a little cooler?

My Doctor mentioned to me that if you feel bad after the sauna, it is because of your adrenals being low.

May be the same for the bath also.

Hi summer16 (Patty),

Yes, it's normal to feel weak when first starting the detox baths..  Actually it kind of let's you know how toxic your body really is..  so the more detox baths you take the more toxins you will rid your body of and the better you will feel!

I just started detox baths and I feel awful after them. All of my symptoms are worse-tingling, vision problems, fatigue, muscle and joint aching. I'm taking that as a sign that I'm very toxic and that it's working. Not fun though! I just found out I have Lyme and haven't started any antibiotics yet.

Just finished my second bath.  The bath water is 98 degrees. 

Now.....how much lemon do I put in a bottle of water?  I am using a little over a tablespoon.

You have no idea how helpful you all are and I so appreciate all of you taking the time to respond.

Hi Patty.
Well, I'm new to this lark,too.but I take a good size tablespoon in 300 ml glass and I usually try and drink 4 glasses a day,so far so good for me.
But like you I'm not sure if I'm taking enough or over doing it.My main concern is that my tummy will over
react.
I guess one of the great forum members will give us the correct dosage if there is one.

Patty, the pleasure is all mine,the reason I asked about "bottoms up" is that I am an English teacher who has to teach Germans American/ English, sometimes and I have a American-English dictionary(which is really thick)to help me out.You spell words differently.too.Fascinating!
Let's hope we are both successful in treating this awful illness,I think we've found a pretty amazing place to start.
I'll think of you when I'm downing my next glass of yummy lemon water!

I just started the Epsom detox bathes myself this weekend. I did one sat and sun. And totally knocked me out too. Someone mentioned peroxide ? What does that do? And did anyone notice stuff floating in your bath when you were finished? If these are the toxins, that is so cool. Tonight I hurt more than I have but attribute it to stirring things up! I'm new to this forum too. That's how I learned about the baths.
Diana, you are a teacher? How do you do it? I teach third grade and had to take time off as soon as I started the antibiotics because of the reaction. I would love to hear how others are working and dealing with lymes.

I started taking my abx one week before the end of term and have been on them all through the summer holdidays,I had been warned of herxing so I didn't want to take the risk of this happening during the school term.
My main symptoms are foot,knee and hand pains so I prepare as much as I can at home,I have the advantage that my pupils are 14 years upwards which means that I don't have to be that mobile-thank goodness.Luckily ,I teach English and not sport!
We will see if I can carry on if not I might be forced to take sick leave,too.

The biggest problem with Lymes is that nobody can forecast the severity or duration of this illness.I guess we just have to stay positive and hope for the best.
