I am also hoping to get started in IC rocephin soon. I will be talking with my doc next week. My symptoms too are almost all neuro. I hate it. Anyway, I hope that this works for us.... Can you describe some of your neuro symptoms to me please.

I spent 3-4 months bouncing around different meds with little to show for it, but 2 weeks after getting my PICC started I just woke up one morning and felt great. It didn't last, but it was the first real peek at a recovery I had seen. All of my cognitive symptoms and most of my neuro symptoms resolved in two large chunks; the first happened at that two week mark and the second batch of improvements came a few weeks after they added flagyl to the mix (around month 2). The third month did nothing and they switched me back to oral meds after that, as the Rocephin was ruining my gall bladder. It came out anyways...

The herx was pretty wild about a week in, with some crazy nightmares and truly bizarre neuro stuff like feeling icewater down the back of my head. Overall it was easy to tolerate, but the PICC itself is no fun to live with. Try to do your doses yourself if you can manage it. The process is simple and allows much more freedom. I got to the point where I could do it in the car or sitting at a table without anyone else even noticing I was doing it.
