Hi guys, I've posted here a few times with my symptoms but one I don't read a lot about
on here is enlarged or painful spleen. This has been one of my most perplexing symtoms the last few months because it's really painful and I can't even lay on my stomach... is there anyone else with this? Very worried it's something more serious. Thanks!

Has a doctor confirmed that it is definitely your spleen? I know someone who lost their spleen to Lyme and co-infections. Make sure your LLMD is aware.
I also have a lot of pain which is under my ribs on both sides and makes it difficult for me to lie down certain ways. You may want to also check and make sure that your liver and gallbladder are okay as many medications and herbs can be very taxing on these organs.

I also have pain in the upper right quadrant of my abdomen and under my right rib cage. I do however have a kidney stone but my Urologist says it cannot be causing the pain cause it isnt moving?! I had my gall bladder removed in Nov 11 cause there was severe pain everytime I ate something.I seemed to feel better for a few months and now I have a constant ache that doesnt seem to be related to eating....its always there! I can relate~

I would agree with what Summer3 has said, find out for sure what is really causing the pain.
The Epstein-Barr Virus is also responsible for enlarged spleens as well. Do you know if you have high titers for EBV?

It's possible that you are experiencing liver pain. Have you talked with your doctor about
this? Lots of members here take herbs to support their livers due to the abx and herbal abx that we take and the way it makes the liver work harder. It can get sluggish and need help from time to time.

I will find out what it is specifically but I'm pretty sure it is my spleen. I tested positive for a possible early infection of EBV but it is my understanding that most people test positive, so I don't know if it is really EBV causing this or Lyme.
It is only on my left and my ribs even stick out a little on that side more than the right. I've been seeing a neuro who is sending me to an endocrinologist now for my inflamed thyroid... I'll try to get an appt with someone that could do an ultrasound on my spleen. *googles*

Do you have a LLMD? If so, I would definitely have him or her check it out. EBV does cause an enlarged spleen and it's common for those with Lyme to have chronic EBV as well. Some doctors will treat it with anti-virals. Others prefer to focus on getting rid of Lyme and Co so that the immune system can handle the other stuff.
