Any guys here in their 20s/early 30s?

I wanna know im not alone in the struggle!

I'm in my 20's also. I'm glad to see some other members of a similar age. I have never met another Lyme patient locally who was in my age bracket which I find kind of interesting. I wonder if it's less likely for certain ages to develop serious cases of chronic Lyme?

You have a good point gracelynn about the fact that at least we know what's wrong at a young age and aren't treating other things for years and years and potentially harming our bodies further (with steroids for instance).

I definitely get depressed about things too. Not often, but sometimes I think how can this have happened? I'm supposed to be starting my career and life now. Instead I have to constantly think about how I'm even going to make it through each day.

32 here, going on 95. At least that's how it feels...everything creaks and cracks and aches. Lol! I think I have had Lyme since my late teens/early 20's. I started to get really sick after my first miscarriage at 28. After the birth of my son at age 30 I got even more sick. I didn't consider Lyme as a possibility until about 2 months ago.

I definitely agree with you gravelynn729, it is frustrating and comes with its own set of challenges at any age. However, I feel for those of you that are so young. You should be having fun, going to college, starting your careers, or whatever path you have chosen for yourself.
I feel like I at least was lucky enough to finish college and "sew my wild oats", if anyone knows what that means...it makes me feel old to say it!!! I definitely don't feel like the average healthy 32 year old, but I feel thankful for my "healthy" years. In my twenties I sometimes had vague symptoms. For example, about once a month I felt like I had the flu. I'd give anything to go back to only being sick once a month!

My husband and I are about to (re)open a music venue. I'm so nervous about it. At my old job I helped with booking, promos, etc. but I have been out of work for quite a while now. The opening is bittersweet for me because I'm not really able to "participate". We own 2 taverns right now and we have live music, but the taverns are fairly small. The capacity of the new place is around 1,500...so it's a huge venture for us! What kind of music do you play? Do you tour nationally? What state are you in? I hope you are feeling better by the spring!

Summer, funny you should mention about certain ages not getting chronic

Lyme. My first bite I was 23 and developed a swollen knee a week later and a

when I was 41 was a different story. I continue to have symptoms though mild

but most of my infections tend to be on the mild side luckily.

I am 25,and I feel like my life has not progressed at all. Ive just had this crippling fear ever since I got symptoms at age 15. I have a job..part time..I have to put my supplements and other stuff on credit cause I was just in a car wreck,and had to buy a car. ugh. It has been one thing after another. I feel like most of it is from this crippling fear I have had,and anxiety. Not to mention my every day fatigue and aches,and brain fog. Never went to college. Both my younger and older sister are married. Successful jobs,etc. Not knowing if I can doing anything,but not willing to try. so confusing!

I can also relate to crippling anxiety. I'm going to ask my doctor for valium or Xanax at my next appt. I've found that lately I can barely go out in public lately...panic ensues for no good reason. Sometimes I have the horrible feeling...I actually refer to it as having
"the fear"... idk how else to describe it... it's a sickening feeling. So I think I understand what you're saying.

Do you have a good doctor that could prescribe something for your anxiety?

Sorry to hear about your car wreck. When it rains it pours, right?! Ugh. I hope things start to turn around for you very soon.
