I get that "marathon" feeling in the big muscles in the front and back of both legs and on the big muscles on the outside of both arms. Boy, does it feel sore! The only thing I have found that helps is my trusty hot water bottle. I have 3 (!) and sometimes I'm using them all at once when I'm laying down. I don't know that the heat really does anything to the source of the pain, but the heat helps overshadow the pain. Someone on another thread said the same thing about
using cold.
I guess I could say one other thing that helps sometimes is for me to put a lot of pressure on the areas of pain- not always easy to do. My DH is getting very good at pushing/squeezing/applying pressure to those areas.
