cats claw... TOA-free vs. whole formula?

for those using cats claw (uno de gato) - has anyone ever come up with a definitive answer as to which type to use? there seems to be a few schools. at least more than one. i was prescribed TOA-free but Buhner says get the whole unadulterated kind.

I use the TOA free and love it! I really feel it has made a difference in my health.

thanks, great resource! my chiro-neuro gave me the toa-free kind for whatever reason... ? i kind of wish i had the other kind because i also believe in getting the whole thing as mother nature intended. but i am also sure he has researched this stuff pretty extensively (to his credit). he is very thoughtful if nothing else and clearly made an informed choice. i can ask him.

is it okay to ask what brand is the cowdens?

what do you do to mitigate the herx - besides lowering the dose?) or do you? i have a hard time detoxing due to having the MTHFR gene so herxing is a huge issue with me and i have both brain and body issues.

what is the Bryon White protocol if i might ask?

about herxing - herxing is a healing crisis. The more severe the healing crisis is (herx) the less healing will happen in the body.

So a small amount of herxing for a short period of time (1 or 2 days) can be very helpful diagnostically and not very harmful to the healing process. Anything longer starts to interfere with the healing.

I used una de gato, and it did nothing for me. However, when I began using Saventaro, which is TOA free and has POA's, I felt the herx. It also has helped with hormone regulation, and eased the severity of my period...menstrual cramps in the stomach, back, thighs. It also helped alleviate some of the emotion I have at the time as well.

This reaction was also true for my daughter. When she stopped taking Saventaro for a month or so, she was bedridden with her period. After 2 months of taking it, she didn't even know she had her period...

That's awesome about the Saventaro, Sam!! Congrats on finding that!! My daughter has horrid, horrid periods, so I do understand how bad it can get.

I have been using the Samento (TAO free Cat's Claw) & Banderol combination at the recommendation of my LLND. Herxed at first so went slow to get up to 5 drops of each 3x/day. I found it greatly helped my memory, word use and twitching. I get them both at my LLND's office.

The Samento & Banderol together is supposed to break down biofilms.

But like anything - some things work well for some people but not for others. If there is one thing I have learned from 13 months of Lyme Tx - it is that!
