In my experience (knowing several regular doctors on a personal level) Igenex is not taken as a serious lab. The doctors that I know call it a bogus lab that turns out nothing but false positives and I live in a highly Lyme-endemic area. I was IgG and IgM positive via Igenex. CDC positive on IgM.
Personally, I don't tell anyone other than my LLMD and one other doctor that I have chronic Lyme. I don't want to constantly have to defend my diagnosis to everyone. I leave my medical care up to my LLMD and if I have something that needs to be addressed by another doctor, I let them address it but I don't divulge my diagnosis to them.
