HLA TEST RESULTS!! SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!!

OK, so I have my results, and I know some of you know how to read them.. I have been trying for some time and I just don't get it. Here are my results:

I hate to tell you the wrong thing as it appears that the test results have changed slightly. If I were reading this the way I understand it, here is what I think it says

Parent 1 gave you:

As the conversion goes...

You would be:

From what I'm unsure about but have read something to the extent that: a parent can give you a set of alleles but once it's in your body, the fact that it came from two sources no longer really matters, it's now part if you. If that is true, the two genes become one big group of genes that represent you. If this is correct, I believe that your true number combos are on the hla dr patterns PDF I shared previously:

Multi susceptible 4-3-53
Multi susceptible 11-3-52B

If I'm correct, and please talk this over with your doc but the way my LLMD interpreted mine had a similar combo of the two patents sets together forming 11-3-52b and 1-5 (low MSH), you don't have the chronic lyme hla patterns. Those I've met with those have picked up lyme over and over every time they are bitten and they keep getting positive lyme test results.

If you have the two multi susceptible alleles, Dr. Shoemaker refers to them as the dreaded ones as it makes it VERY difficult to detox therefore you never really get things totally out of your system. This has been my biggest struggle to date so is be curious to hear how things are going with your detox efforts. If you do struggle your treatment protocol has to be extra slow and careful not to overload your system and you have to find ways to get things out of you otherwise they get reabsorbed. I am leaning to heading to a detox center for this very reason because I just need some help to get past this hump of treatment and not getting stuff out if me!

I hope I didn't scare you as I think this is all so fascinating and amazing how genes and your body works! I think that if I'm correct in how I read this, you are now empowered for the info you need and your doc needs to treat your specific challenges. Knowledge is power. Keep me posted, especially after your doc fills you in with how he reads the results. Maybe I'm totally off but I read them the way that I read mine and my LLMD confirmed I did it correctly. Glad that I hope I helped. I think I'm correct based on what I remember from science class but genes and the human genome are much above my head, yet still fascinating!

As for my detoxing...

* I have had no success with epsome salt baths or any warm bath. My skin gets irritated and I get swelling and lumps in my tissue.
* I have had no success with the foot soaks as the skin on my legs gets really irritated from anything I put in them.
* I have tried to exercise and I can't do much beyond walking and yoga but that's something. I used to be a competitive swimmer and then in more recent years I swam for exercise but not in the past year or so (and the chlorine smell was starting to bother me).
* I did buy a very nice portable FIR sauna. i am super sensitive to smells so I checked with my LLMD for a recommendation on one that was good and wouldn't cause additional issues. It was a bit more expensive but I use it regularly and is the thing that I find the most success with (though I still struggle). I am off the abx for a short break and I can tolerate the sauna for a much longer amount of time and higher heat now.
* I find that lymphatic drainage helps me a lot as my lymph nodes back up. So I try to get that done every 4-5 weeks and I do it at home when I find things backing up. My therapist taught me a few things.
* I do acupuncture a lot. We have community acupuncture so that makes it cheaper. It helps tremendously with the pain but also causes massive herexs if I don't watch telling them to detox too much at once.

I do not have the MTHFR mutation but I have always been fairly conscious of what I use topically as well as orally. I became a vegetarian when I was 13 though I had to stop after 15 years due to a soy allergy which wiped out a huge piece of my diet! I now have a 4 year old who has life threatening food allergies so we have become very aware of foods and especially creams and topical solutions as they often have some of her allergens in them and with her eczema as an infant we had to be careful.

So the more natural products I tend to use I like.
* I use Tom's of Maine peppermint fluoride free toothpaste.
*I use Tom's of Maine either unscented or Lemongrass deodorant. I did use the crystal rock but it didn't keep my pits supported enough!
* I use Avalon Organics lemon cream for my feet as they get dry.
* I use something called Super Salve as a face ointment and burn cream if I ever need it. It is all natural and great to keep my oily regions of my face well hydrated and yet not clogged.
* I use Calendula Cream from either Jurlique (for my face) and California Baby for my body.
* We use Dessert Essence Body Wash, Shampoo and Conditioner. They have a fragrance free one but we also like the Raspberry, Green Apple and Lemon depending on what you need to have done to your hair to make it happy!
* I also use the Avalon Organics Thickening Shampoo with Biotin since my hair has fallen out a lot.
* We sometimes use the California Baby sensitive shampoo and conditioner as well though I like the Dessert Essence ones better.

* I use olive oil as an oil for any essential oils I use to help clear me out like Frankincense, Theives or Muscle Relax - for muscle pain.
* I use coconut oil for yeast infections, very dry skin and often as a deep conditioner.
* I do not use any makeup and really haven't in years though I do use Burt's Bee's chap stick from time to time.

I know a lot of people who highly recommend Juice Beauty makeup but I can't speak to it one way or another. I've also heard good things about Aubry Organics. If you decide to try those out I can point you to some cheaper places to get Aubry Organics. I do tend to spend more then the average on topical products but they have to not contain certain products due to my daughter's allergies (she is girly and I want to be able to share my stuff with her without fear that she will stop breathing!). I also can't afford the top of the line brands like Pangea Organics as they are very expensive. I struggle with fragrance but citrus seems to sit well with me so that is why I lean towards lemon, lime, orange and lemongrass smells if there is any fragrance.

If you need some more suggestions, there is a website called Eco Emi. I just joined them but for a monthly fee of $15 you get small sizes of products to try. They are all organic, many are vegan and they are very responsibly sourced. My friends turned me on to them as you get to try new teas, face creams, makeup, snacks and even toothpaste. In the monthly box you get a bunch of products to try along with coupon codes for discounts on the products. I will get my first box next week but they tend to have some great products I already use plus some others that will be fun to try. They also have a bunch of recommendation sites that may help you find some new products to try for your needs.

Finally, I find that one thing that helps me a lot is the Highdose Vitamin C IVs. They make me herx for 24-36 hours and then give me a great boost of energy and make my pain go way down. I have really liked them. I get them with B vitamins too which helps as well. Just another avenue to look into to help detox. I also just started physical therapy and they use the cold laser there as well as the rebounder and a few other things and I find it all very helpful to keeping things moving. The key for me is to get my bowels moving. The second they slow down, the worse I am.

Regarding the HLA-DRB - I had run across a video a couple docs had posted on their blog but can't seem to find it again. They did make the point that though Shoemaker takes about dreaded genotypes that they have had patients with the "bad" genotypes that still healed fine. In other words, they said to not take it as a death sentence.
