Seems like my PVC's are caused by Bartonella. Last Saturday was horrid and it looks like I'm in for another rough Saturday....does babesia flare this way too? In cycles? I thought Bart was more typically associated with the 5-7 days.

I'm guessing if it progressively gets worse every week that means that the infection is spreading... I'll call the doctor again on Monday I guess.

It's an arrhythmia where you feel your heart is skipping beats or stopping for a few secs and restarting. Do you take magnesium? A deficiency can cause them but you seem to be up on everything so I would think you take it. I've gotten them in the past but they seemed to have gone away.

Do you involuntarily cough to restart your heart?

no coughing..except last night when i did a foot bath but it wasn't heart related

Also I would think if I were magnesium deficient that I would have muscle spasms or pain and I don't have any of that. When I take an epsom bath it does not seem to help either.

PVC = Premature Ventrical Contraction
PAC = Premature Atrial Contraction

Both are felt the same way - as if one's heart is skipping a beat, or a pause-boom sensation in the chest. Most MD's describe this as "palpitations" in the medical record.

I've gotten them for years (not sure which, my medical record lists one or the other at various times), and an ultrasound of my heart reveals no structural anomalies.

I have noticed that magnesium glycinate makes mine worse (haven't had this problem with other magnesium supplements), and so can electrolyte imbalance. Also, eating a larger meal can aggravate them, as can lying down on my left side.

hey opugirl,

let us know what your doc says. i also have a day every 6-8 days that involves pvcs/pacs and was also thinking that this could be related to bartonella.

does anyone have a reference to any literature describing these short cycles with bartonella and/or babesia?

Like Razzle, I had them for a long time (about 17 years now). It comes and goes.

It didn't know if it was caused by chemotherapy I got long ago (that was what the drs guessed), from food allergies or from Bart...
Heart checkup showed a minor leakage on one of the valves, but nothing to worry about the cardiologist said, lots of people have this sort of thing?
