Juat want to intoduce my self. I am on here on the behalf of my beautiful girlfriend who might have lyme. We drew blood yesterday for the WB test. She has had symptoms for 8 months now. Her CD57 was 29 as of last week and a few months back she teated positive for the antibody IgM. We live in Orange County CA. She is not on any ABX yet. I am looking for some front line tips we both have been detoxing and getting ready to FIGHT. Any help would be great.

Hi welcome to the forum. If your gf tested positive on the IgM then she most definitely has Lyme and should've started treatment immediately. The longer she waits the tougher it will be to "cure".

I'm guessing she saw her primary doc or an infectious disease doc because a Lyme Literate doctor would have started her on abx right away. Very important she treats with an LLMD or a naturopath specializing in Lyme and not an infectious disease doc or PCP. Good luck to her!

No not at all- the doses needed are much higher and only specific abx will work against these bacteria. If you haven't yet read through the thread that sits at the top of the forum, titled "New to Lyme? Start here!" , please do, as it's packed full of very important information.

You can get started on drinking at least 64 ounces of water daily, eating very healthy -choosing whole organic foods whenever possible- and eliminating sugar from your diet. Lots of this is covered in the "New to Lyme?" thread.

That depends on symptoms but most start with Doxycycline-300 to 400mg. A good LLMD would also usually combine that with a cyst-buster like Tinidazole as doxy tends to promote borellia cyst formation and Tinidazole is an excellent cyst buster.

Keep in mind that a tick carries many different bacterium so odds are she has co-infections which could require different abx treatments so it's a long process that requires a lot of patience and trial and error.

Thanks Traveler I have read the New to Lyme thread. Thanks Todd for the heads up on the ABX. My girl friend is yoga therapist so we plan on using all ways to work this out of her.
