After being ill for 2+ years and a diagnosis of CFS and Hypothyroidism along with a multitude of other symptoms, It is looking like I may have Bartonella, in the last few month I have developed a stretch mark rash over my upper thighs and down to my knee along with around my hip and biceps and triceps. First inclination was Cushing's however this is looking unlikely following test results. I have made an appointment to go to BreakSpear but unfortunately this isn't until September. So in my free time i am looking to find a LLMD any where I can within the UK. I have been given a few contacts but contact information seems to be outdated. Anyway anybody who has info on current Drs they have seen recently regarding lyme or other co-infections, I would greatly appreciate if you could share there information with me. Thanks again.

Your story sounds remarkable similar to mine - I have the bartonella marks and have been treated extensively for Bart, and since they have stopped developing.

Have you got any support through your GP? The situation in the UK is dire - worse than it has been for a while. Breakspear represents about the only viable option and even then treatment can be expensive and limited. There is a private Dr in the south of Wales but I don't think they are taking on new patients and offer very limited treatment.

Many in the UK are forced abroad to places like the BCA in Germany or drs in the US.

I would encourage you to join the yahoo group Eurolyme if you haven't already. There is also a fb group set up for UK Lyme patients - it's fairly new but has some experienced members.

Feel free to mail me if you want. There are a few others on here from the UK who a might have something else to add.

Hey Hugh, thanks for the reply. I've spoken to my gp and he's open to it being a possibility but he hadn't even heard of it before I mentioned it and obviously without a diagnosis he isn't really willing to give me any sort or antibiotics. Do you mind me asking how you got your diagnosis and what treatment your on currently?

WELCOME to the forum. I am sorry to hear that although you are on the other side of the pond, that you are suffering like so many other people are all over the world. We are here to encourage and support you in any way that we can. I think that you will find our members to be both friendly and helpful. Please make yourself at home.

If you haven't already, please read the thread entitled "New to Lyme?....Start here" at your leisure. It has some important information that is useful to know for those having this illness. Please pay particular attention to the section on detoxing. The microbes secrete toxins that cause your symptoms to be stronger than they would otherwise be. An effective detox regimen will go a long way in reducing your misery. Please don't overlook this important aspect of your treatment.

I would encourage other members from the UK to chime in with advice that is pertinent to those in the UK. Welcome again. Please keep us updated.
