hi Tootsieroll,
could it be anxiety combined with OCD?
throughout my life, due to circumstances, I started meditating. Have you tried this? It really helps with anxiety, and other things. I also took Passiflora Incarnata to calm down. OCD, for me, comes and goes. This disease messes with your mind: e.g. triple checking/washing things (I was starting to behave like Jack Nicholson in As Good as it Gets), thinking someone will step on the bus or metro, take out some kind of arm and kill everyone (when I was in such a state, I was checking hiding spaces or escaping routes - lol). These were unrealistic thoughts, and luckely for me, I was conscious about that, was thinking how silly I was, laughing with myself...
Some periods were pretty intense. What saved me was being very conscious and vigilant about my thoughts, and taking something to calm down when noticing that my thoughts were getting too crazy - lol. I stuck to a natural product that didn't have any danger of becoming addicted.
It sometimes come back, but it's more a symptom I had a few years ago.
I'm sure others will jump in, lots of anxiety over here...
Oh yes, I sing to myself when my mind can't stop thinking in bed, it clears all thoughts and makes me sleep right away, especially children's songs are very helpful. People on here will think I'm totally nuts...
