Hi, thanks for the info - I'll add it in. I am pretty much computer dim so I don't know how to send out pics. I'll be out of access again for another week but as soon as I can, I'll at least list what I have. From memory I have for you -
Check the West LA county Vector Control District website for 9 finds. (And an ILADS outlook.) :)
2011 California Vector Control for many So. Cal listings including Crystal Cove State Park (Borrelia specific but not tested down to Burgdorferi strain...duh?), San Clemente, and Camp Pendleton.
From a Mountain Biking site I found a man saying he'd gotten the bullseye after an attached tick in an area near Laguna. (Several years ago.)
The San Bernardino find in the '90's was a news release. I'll have to dig around in my notes to get the specifics.
I found a vet site which mentions multiple cases in dogs in each county down here. I imagine dog owners take their dogs out and about as much as kid owners. Oops, I mean parents, really... OK, I actually think of dogs as more like kids than 'pets'.
My map is not actually assembled yet, I'm still listing areas and trying to pin point them.
I am catching up on making a living after having a big slow down to fight for my son's brain. So far there is lots of improvement. Fingers still crossed. There's still some sign that thinks aren't all back to normal. But wow is it nice to see he's a sweet kid again.
The physical improvements are fantastic, but I have to admit having his mental state blamed on being bi-polar or ADHD or bad parenting - ie - no discipline was a huge strain. "It's just his age, a stage, a common mental illness, disability, etc." ANYTHING BUT LYME!
Take this very seriously and be vocal! And if things seem abnormal to you, trust your experience. You know you, or your kids, best!
Totally unrelated - Hi Traveler! My email is not playing nice but I really wanted to let you know I have been thinking about you. :) I hope life is good for you all.
