I'm 28 year old female and I've been having trouble for a while now and I think it's Lyme or Anaplasmosis.
I have 4 children and a husband. My 5 year old daughter had Lyme (positive test) last spring.
this is what has been happening with me the last couple of months............

June 15th 2013, kids had viral fevers, nothing above 100*
June 17th I cam down with fever, 100* and flu like symptoms
June 20th I had terrible headache not effected by any OTC meds
June 24th ER for migraine diagnosed with sinusitis and slightly low white count. 7 days of augmentin
July 28th Headaches still coming along with weakness, racing heart, severe fatigue, brain fog, pain
Admitted until 7/30 for pain control and because of elevated liver enzymes and low white count
Sent home with no answers and pain meds.
Followed up with dr after becoming worse and started 7 days of doxycycline because he believed it to be Anaplasmosis. Test was negative. Still finished the meds.
August 14th started to feel awful again while out celebrating our 9th wedding anniversary. Chills, aches, head/neck pain, weakness. A few days later, dr started me on another round of Doxy. 21 days worth this time.
Today is September 2nd (day 11 of 2nd round of Doxy) I am starting to feel a little bit better....not as much pain. Though my neck seems to be a problem today. Yesterday some weakness and fatigue with a small headache.

Does this sound like Lyme to you? All of my labs keep coming back negative or normal.........tested for Lupus, RA, and everything similar....

Also it seems strange your doc would jump right to anaplasmosis and skip over Lyme.

Well, I take that back. Maybe your doc, like mine, doesn't really believe in Lyme.

I would say get tested for Lyme and if your doctor doesn't want to do it then going to another one you don't want to waste time. plus a good doctor will clinically diagnosis you versus is waiting for lab tests. I tested positive last October, with a positive confirmatory as well. I did not feel better after 4+ weeks of doxy. The tick bite was back in July of that year.

Two docs insisted if the doxy didn't make me feel better, it was another problem, NOT Lyme. I trudged along over the next 9 months, often feeling tired, achy, sluggish. But about a month ago I was extremely ill with frightening pain and neuro symptoms, ended up in the ER when my face and hand went numb. They tested for Lyme and it was a big fat positive.

My naturopath believes this is chronic, and my MD insists its a new infection. I believe the former, not the latter.
