1 in 4 people with LYME?????

I want to speak to a congressman/congresswoman or government official about the way they could save our country billions of dollars over the next ten years by making a few new laws concerning changes in testing for lyme disease and treatments for chronic/late stage lyme. They need to test immediately for this infection at all doctors offices and help doctors and emergency rooms and learn to read the tests correctly and make sure they consider checking every band individually on these tests. They need to add band #34 back into the tests they administer at doctors offices. (they took it out because of the lyme vaccine that was on the market a few years ago that was eventually taken off the market) By taking this band out of the western blot test many tests are coming back with a false negative result further hurting patients. They need to make sure doctors act quickly on treating this disease or at least educate doctors on the consequences of not treating this infection quickly enough and with long enough courses of antibiotics. The consequence of not treating this infection is catastrophic for the patient and for our healthcare costs as well. Its predicted that one in four people will have lyme disease by 2016. I read that somewhere not sure where but that is a huge tax on our healthcare system and could be devastating to our country. Somebody needs to be the first to take notice and take action. Somebody needs to be the hero here in our country. Who is going to step up and educate our doctors and our CDC and the governing agencies for our healthcare system? This is an epidemic with catastrophic consequences to our country and our people.
