Hi opugirl,
You have given me a lot of good information. I will be visiting this site frequently, I'm sure, and taking your advice on following threads.
I'll try to give you as short a version as possible on my story. I have always loved being outdoors and was active with horses, hiking etc. I have had many tick bites over the years but was not concerned since I had been told that there was no Lyme in NC. Before the symptoms started I was very healthy and was enjoying an active lifestyle. about
5 yrs ago I started having weird illnesses. Nothing alarming at first, just more trips to the Dr. than usual. I did not have a bullseye rash and do not remember a sudden illness. about
4 yrs. ago I started having more alarming symptoms. I had MANY tests, over 3 yrs. time, because of the widespread unexplained, seemingly unrelated symptoms. I saw a different specialist for every part of my body, LOL , including a Neurologist and a Infectious Disease Specialist. I was diagnosed with Fibro. but I knew there had to be something else since I was having fevers and could not keep weight on. After doing my own research, I suspected Lyme but tests came back negative. Oh, and I was told that my symptoms might be because of anxiety. about
a year ago I decided to see a Dr. who is known for thinking "outside the box." After a very long interview he diagnosed me with Lyme and explained how inaccurate the tests can be. I also tested positive for a lot of food sensitivities, adrenal fatigue and deficiencies. I chose to see a Dr. in VA Beach who specializes in homeopathic treatment for Lyme. I did not have the results I hoped with that but I am still using some of the treatment. I am now following my LLMD's advice, using SPIRO, supplements, eating very healthy and trying to remain optimistic that I will feel better soon. Antibiotics will be my next course if I do not get results with the current treatment. I'll try to post my progress along the way. It would be wonderful to share the news if this treatment works as well as my Dr. feels it will.
Thanks again.
