Tracy, please don't despair. It is great to hear first-hand of people who are doing well after being infected. Sometimes when we are very ill and have been under treatment for what seems like an eternity we begin to doubt ourselves and wonder if we will ever get well.
Something that is echoed here over and over again is that every person is different, and so people will react differently to different treatments. Something that worked for one person may not work the same for others.
If you have Lyme and other infections such as Bartonella, Babesia, mycoplasma, Epstein-Barr, Ehrlichia, or viral infections, then you will take longer to heal. Antibiotics for one bacteria will seldom work against other bacterias, so if you have multiple infections, then guess what? you are going to take longer to heal.
Another contributing factor to the illness is how healthy your immune system was at the time of the infection and how long you have had the infection.
So again, please don't give up if you are not getting better quickly. As long as you keep at it, the odds will be in your favor that you will eventually get better.
