CDC is a total joke (3!!! yup only "3" people died from heart inflammation in northeast!)

Honest to God, the news headlines as you all may have seen, "The cdc says Lyme disease "MAY HAVE CAUSED HEART INFLAMMATION IN THREE PEOPLE IN THE NORTHEAST THAT DIED THIS PAST YEAR". OMG!!!! only 3 people died from heart inflammation due to lyme!!! are they for real??? do they realize how many people are really dying from lyme and inflammation due to lyme??? That headline is a joke. 3 f#!@*ing people died due to heart inflammation and another couple hundred thousand died due to misdiagnosis of lyme and inflammation all over their body is what that headline should really say, idiots!!!! I hate the cdc for making this disease a joke and making the uneducated person think that it is a rarity to get lyme disease not an actual real possiblilty that most people will get it in their lifetime. I had this disease for the past 20 years and not one doctor even considered it possible. Why? because the CDC doesn't put it "out there" for the community that this disease is a real epidemic and real serious issue right now and more people than not actually have it and won't get diagnosed because of them (the cdc) or treated until it is way too late. It is their fault that I was misdiagnosed for so long, and their fault I can't get medical coverage for chronic lyme and thier fault I can't afford even a single christmas gift this year at christmas time. Their fault I can't go forward in my life and look for a better job, or take better care of my child. F them. I wish I could talk to the head of the cdc today and tell them what a joke their establishment represents to the health and safety of our nation then talk to a lawyer about what the next step will be when I sue their ass for ruining half of my life!!! UGHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

I totally agree with you, and I share your anger. There are many other things that our country is handling every bit as poorly as the Lyme epidemic. In my opinion, we need a complete and total overhaul of leadership in the U.S. to bring this country back from the brink of ruin.

I too share your anger though, but I've believed for a long while now that it's up to us to help those that we can that have these diseases and not rely on the gov't for help - or even acknowledgement.

I've seen it said many times, and I've said it on here, we are following in the HIV/AIDS 'movement' footsteps. I've recently seen where someone who was involved with those first years of the HIV/AIDS movement say that Lyme disease was going through the same things that they did.

It would seem to me that, if those in 'power' in the Lyme world were truly interested in getting these infections recognized properly, they would call on those that were involved with the beginnings of the HIV/AIDS movement and find out what their strategy was.....but no one wants to listen to someone like me. snicker, snicker.

I like that point lymerunner. I would have never known the power of herbal remedies if I wasn't so desperate to find help because my primary care doesn't believe in chronic lyme and wouldn't treat me. Now i have an arsenal of remedies for different conditions that are not prescription drugs. And very true traveler yet sometimes I feel like with Lyme disease we are going to have to wait a lot longer than the Aids movement took because this disease has more than one way to treat it, and has more than one type of form it presents itself as in the body. That makes treatment even more complicated.

I honestly feel such a positive sense of being everytime I come here to post an issue or vent or just read others experiences. And I feel lucky to "know" you and everybody here. We are fortunate to have this outlet.

I've been at this for a while and I've learned a lot from others that have been or are still here and other places! So I can't take the credit all to myself. Many people have taught me many things.

I am glad however, that I have had a hand in helping you!! That's what makes donating my time here even after I have healed worth it all! I feel pretty darned lucky to have met each and every one of the members here. As I said, I've learned something from almost every one who I "speak" with!
