Homeless Lyme patients now have a place to go to get treatment!! Spread the word!

The William D. Geiser Lyme Away Lodge is now open for homeless Lyme patients in Gilman, Wisconsin!!!!

The lodge was named after William D. Geiser, a local man that suffered for many years with lyme and co-infections, was misdiagnosed and never given adequate treatment. William had repeatedly told other members of the community that one day, there should be a lodge or clinic where lyme patients could go to recover. He said he would call it the “Lyme Away Lodge”.

As fate would have it, on the very day that William was scheduled to have his first ever LLMD appointment, those volunteering to pick him up for the appointment found him deceased at his home.

There is another facility that is trying to open for the same purpose, only their dream is to have a national network. They need help though as well. Please check it out, maybe there is something that you can do to help it get up and running too!

Trav, when one dies from Lyme disease, what is it that kills them? Was this man's death and cause of death publicized?

I know this is from a while back, but I wanted to mention that from what I've read, the most common mechanism of death for those with tick borne infections is a blockage of blood flow to the brain (stroke), particularly while one is sleeping. A peaceful way to go... especially after dealing with massive pain for so long, the peace that comes after death will be enlightening.
