I have an appointment December 30th with my LLMD in Rockville, MD at 2 pm. Afterwards I am meeting up with a sweet girl (she's not a member of healing well) who I met in the docs office last time I was there.

I would like to invite anyone interested to meet with us for support. I'd say around 3:30 ish, as my appointment should only take 45-60 minutes.

I hope you find more to join you. Have you thought of starting a support group? You'd probably get more people doing that on a scheduled basis. Ours meets on Sunday afternoon, at 1 and goes for 2 hours. It seems to be a good day and time for most people.

Yes. I am thinking of starting a support group here near Pittsburgh. I just thought that while I'm in that area already meeting with someone, I'd extend the offer :)

I might be interested depending on how well Im feeling. Im in the North Bethesda area (ironically near the NIH), so Im not too far away.

Id be interested in knowing how well you like your LLMD and is he is accepting new patients?

Cool!!! No one will be here in the office so I can sneak off and have a long lunch. Plus my pharmacy is up there (you would love it). It's called Village Green and they have every supplement known to man AND they have trained specialists that knows what is best for you! Love it!

I hope it goes well for all of you attending.

We meet on Sunday afternoon, once a month and that seems to work out well for everyone. We sometimes have speakers come and talk about their therapy, usually an alternative treatment. Most of the time it's just people sharing information and their experiences with Lyme. The person running it has several books people can borrow, so that's helpful if you can't afford it or don't want to buy one.

I look forward to it every month.

I wish I could be a part of your group. There are no support groups here near Pittsburgh, so after new year, I will be starting one. Not sure exactly where or the details.

I recently met a new connection. She's had lyme for years and suffered terribly. In bed for a long time and family & friends Actually prayed for her to be taken home to suffer no more. since she wasn't taken home, they all started praying for a miracle. Well, after getting 5 months of IVIG she is now driving again! She would be an excellent resource for a support group here in my area, as she worked as an RN for a LLMD for years before becoming ill.

Best of luck and no matter what happens, don't get discouraged!!

If you need ideas, let me know as I'm trying to organize a support group locally as well and have already done a bit of researching on it.

Yes, that's who I am seeing. Saw him once already about a month ago. Liked him better than the first 2 LLMDS I saw prior. Is that your doc?

Great!  No, he is not my doctor...but I have spoken to him via phone and followed/participated in his blogs regarding mHBOT. 

I became well through mHBOT prior to him starting to use this with patients, so I am very glad to see this happening...

I just started posting on this forum...you can read a little more about this in the "Hyperbaric Chamber" thread if interested...

If it's the LLMD that I'm thinking of - I like his blog as well. I even share links to his posts from time to time.

I just went and did a search and found this in a blog post about HBOT:

"Many of our sickest patients have cellular dysfunction with glutathione inadequacy. This can be measured with a blood level. MTHFR mutations with decreased methylation and elimination of toxins may be an issue. HBOT is another way of increasing glutathione and promoting cellular detoxification. Other benefits include: increased tissue oxygenation, decreased inflammation, beneficial effects on cytokines and lymphocyte functioning (enhancing the immune system) and improving neuroplasticity. HBOT works well with antibiotics and may increase antibiotic penetration into tissues. The therapy may obviate the need for intravenous antibiotics. "

Shelly and Vcast it was great meeting you both for lunch!!! Your daughter is amazing Shelly, so glad she is in your life!!!! Vcast let's connect soon, I'm going to the Village Green this week to get my prescription and maybe you can meet me there to check out the place since they are full of experts that know supplements.

Wryter. & vcast: It was so very nice to meet up with you both today! You guys are awesome. My daughter even said how nice you both are !

I wish it could have been a longer meet, but I did have a doctor appt. to go to, lol

The appt. went well. I'm staying on flagyl , adding ceftin, liposomal glutathione & welchol. Plus continue the vitamins & supplements I was on already on. I once again sang the praises of the Enhansa I am on (curcumin) and how it helps with the joint pain & he said he will consider recommending it to his other patients.

We also discussed more treatment options. One of which being 3 days of peripheral IV ROcephin and. 4 days off. The IV is removed for 4 days , eliminating need for picc line. I sm going to strongly consider this option & if things aren't any better in 2 months when I go back, I may do it.

Again, thanks for meeting. & look toward to doing it again !
