Internal vibrating

I had it on and off before getting diagnosed. Now that I've started treatment, it is really making a comeback! It feels like it is mostly in my chest area, but I get it down my leg, as well.

Vibrating feeling is pretty normal with lyme. Mine went away with treatment, yours should too. :)

I browse through the forums and just see symptom after symptom that I've never shared with anyone (other than my wife) because I didn't even know how to describe it. This is one of those. I tried to compare the "shaking" to the tremors I would get in my hands and legs, but it was more like when your teeth chatter from being cold. A faster shake, inside my body. Internal vibration is better than anything I ever thought of. It's just so hard to describe!

To me it feels like a whole bunch of cell phones vibrating behind my chest area. Sometimes it goes down to my abdomen area as well....I get it mostly when I am really tired.

Felt it for the first time this morning at around 4AM in my legs. It does feel like an earthquake erupted inside me. Shortly after they jerked violently and my left thigh muscles were twitching. Could be a herx as I'm only weeks into taking cat's claw and banderol.

Please help! I feel like I am going crazy. Sorry to bring up an older thread--but it fits perfectly!

I recently ramped up Azith to 250/day. about three weeks ago, I suddenly got a big round of twitching--everywhere but mostly in my legs. Then the weirdest internal vibration. Then it died down some for a while, but then yesterday:

Lots of leg muscle twitches and today: AGAIN intetnal vibration (with twitching).

How can this come again?! Isn't it true that if this is a herx, the symptoms are supposed to come once, then disappear? Why would it happen again? Could it be a new growth cycle of the bacteria dying off? How could it keep going?

I am getting to my wit's end. Does this ever improve? I feel alone in all this inexplicable nightmarish neurological weirdness...

Thank you Will 228. It is awful! This disease is so bizarre. Will can you describe what it is like for you? Do your legs twitch and feel like they are vibrating? Do you twitch kind of non-stop in your calves and feet, but with just some breaks here and there? Like it can be still and then later or the next day going crazy with twitching and vibrating?

Do you have Lyme and Bartonella or Babesia? Does it ever interrupt your sleep?

Mylyme I am exactly like you.I twitched a lot. Mostly in my legs but I can get twitches anywhere. They are like little ripples under my skin.I used to twitch constantly but now I barley twitch at all. It's been getting much better as my treatment progresses. The vibrating and twitching are only really noticeable at night occasionally now usually after an increase in dosage or new Abx. I also occasionally get times where a muscle feels like it's locked up for a split second which can feel odd. I believe the twitching is more nerve irritation than neurological/brain related. The better I stick to my anti yeast diet the less twitching I get . I'm on fluconizole and nystatin to control yeast and to test the theory I stopped taking them for a week and ate a lot of bread... I began to twitch like crazy everywhere .once I started them back up and returned to my diet within a few days the twitching calmed down from constant to a hand full twitches a day. Try eliminating yeast from your diet and see how you do.

How does the twitching play out with you guys? Like for me, I started getting twitching in my right thigh, and it just kept moving to different areas for two months, like arms, legs, calfs, back, stomach, and face. After like 2-3 months of that, my twitches calmed down a lot, but I still get them. What's weird about my twitches is can see the muscle twitching and it does a crazy spasm for like 10 -15 seconds then stops. It never continues. I use to have the vibrating thing when lying on my bed, felt like a slight motor was going off in my legs.

I hear with ALS, the twitching is non stop, hard to notice and fine

With benign fasciculation syndrome it's also non stop all day, but really noticeable, and resides in places like your calves.

With lyme, I hear the twitches are short, like 10-15 seconds, that spazz out at different times all throughout the day in different parts of the body.

Is there any truth to this?

I was having this long before I realized I had lyme and was dx. It scarred me to no end! For me it feels like a cell phone is on vibrate and at times it can go on for days on end. I've had this in my lower abdomen and had no idea what could be happening.

I also have it in my thighs, sides and arms.

I also get the jumping all over my body. It gets to be a pain after a while. Especially when trying to sleep.

The information you posted is mostly correct as far as I learned from a Neuromuscular and Nerve Specialist I saw (one of the only actual doctors to consider it being Lyme). I had 4 nerve conduction studies and emgs so I saw her quite a number of times.

I get it in my thighs, my biceps, and cheek. My eyelids also twitch like crazy, it embarrassing at times. I also have a rocking sensation when I'm trying to sit still, for instance sitting on the floor. My biddy rocks rhythmically back and forth ever so slightly. It's annoying, but certainly the least offensive of my symptoms.

I spoke to my LLMD Dr L today: amazingly, he said that things like "inner vibration" feelings can only truly be described by Lyme patients--that if you say this to a standard neurologist, he or she will think you are nuts! That is how crazy this disease is.

He said he really feels like i am having a herx from Azithromycin, and that Azith is notorious for provoking this.

These were comforting words, knowing what we Lyme patients have to suffer through seemingly alone, with almost no one understanding it.

It is the nights that for me are sometimes the darkest. When I awaken with jerks, insidious little twitches, evil stabbing pains deep in bones, quietly suffering in a dark room while others sleep, that I almost lose hope. I take a painkiller or mild sedative just to sleep again, and hoping that one sunny day soon I might have a "good" day...
