I have been on abx for more than six months. I was very ill with late stage neuro Lyme. I have done really well on the antibiotics and feel about
80% better.
However I was beginning to notice side effects from the abx and my LLMD advised trying to transition over to herbs. I tried to slowly wean down the dosage of abx. I had been reading Buhner's and wanted to use the core protocol for starters.
about
2 weeks into the transition I developed pain at the base of my skull (had this before Lyme tx), acne flared up and had a severe bout of costochondritis. This is severe pain under the rib cage that mimics a heart attack. It is really unbearable.
My analysis of the situation was that the Lyme was returning. It had relapsed several times so I am pretty familiar with this happening. All of this sent me reeling right back into taking the antibiotics. Dr also said some people are on them for 2 years and I do know a few.
Anyway this was discouraging. I hate the way I feel on abx, bloated and gross. However I cannot tolerate the pain and general condition associated with the disease. Basically I cannot function. BTW I also work full time.
Any suggestions appreciated.
Happy, healthy wishes to all.
