OK - I'm overwhelmed

So, I have the appt. with a ND on Monday to do the blood draw. She said she just sends whole blood. no spinning, or separating.
I called the LLND office in Victoria (3 1/2 hours drive) and the office assistant said she thought it needed to be separated and that I couldn't just take the kit to the lab because our lab needs specific instructions from a ND on what to do.
So, I have emailed Igenex to ask them if they need the blood spun or separated...and if so, I will have to ask the ND on Monday to give me the kit with the specific instructions for Lifelabs...and that will mean paying the ND for a 15 minute visit plus Lifelabs to do the draw.
I am hoping that to pick up the test results from the ND - that she won't charge me...as I will be taking them to the LLND in Victoria.

It's not feasible for me to go to Victoria to the LLND next week for the blood draw, and then go back two weeks later for the test results. I need my husband to take me there...and he can beg for one day off, but not two in that short span...and we also can't afford two trips that close together.
I'm trying to plan all this, but getting overwhelmed and stressed.

Anyone see a better way? Is what I'm doing making sense? Maybe I just need to hear back from Igenex - on whether whole blood is ok to send.

I agree with the others in your previous post. Do NOT waste any more of your time or money with that ND.

Wait to hear back from Igenex on what they require to do the lyme test.

And finally, go to your local clinic / hospital, have them do the blood draw, and get it shipped out to Igenex. Lab techs draw blood all day long.... ND's do not.

It sounds like you're spending a lot of your energy worrying about this ND and whether she'd do things correctly for Igenex. So remove the ND from the situation entirely. Be done with it.

ps ~ I would think Igenex would have no issues with sending you the results directly. Think of how many lyme warriors are completely on their own with this disease.

I think you're correct that an ND or MD has to sign the request. And not to scare you, but I have been waiting since Apr 2 for Igenex test kits to arrive in AB. Phoned them after 3 weeks to see what was up and they are being held up by Customs. So I reordered to cover my bases. Still waiting.

Could you ask LLND if they have kits on hand? If so, could LLND mail you a kit (no Customs that way) and fax or email the signed request to you? Then go to your local lab and get blood drawn.

Results will go to LLND and you can coordinate appointment with them.

It will all work out. Try not to lose sleep over it tonight.
