Has anyone had the problem with your veins popping out all over their body? It's freaky! On my arms and hands they pop out of my body maybe in a 1/4 inch. Lately on my feet and ankles they pop out of the sides. Its weirding to me out and starting to worry me. Anyone else have this issue?

lol - yes it is quite common with lyme. If you actually go to the search box and put in 'lyme veins' you will see there has been a lot of discussion on this topic. I have the blue large veins! And with me, they were also the worst on my feet.

Rest assured, most do go away with treatment. I think my already thin skin had lost some fat and I'm ghastly pale which contributed to it looking worse.

I might suggest looking up some super foods that are good for veins. I know berries are a great source for cardiovascular health. Bartonella is more attributed to vein issues as well.

How is your treatment going?

Still trying to find a llmd anywhere near here. My gp has been very good in trying to help me find a lyme dr, but we haven't had any luck yet.

I'll do some hunting tonight and send you a few suggestions tomorrow. Nashville unfortunately might be your best bet.

The worst part about it is that sometimes I get pains in my arms right where the vein is. It sucks!

Wow - of all my signs/symptoms i never realized that Lyme could be causing my sudden onset of "thin skin" and bulging veins. The ND said it's because I'm old now....I don't consider 52 old...and this happened over night with the other Lyme symptoms.

I think this is why Lyme is so difficult for us...there are so many things going on that it's mind-boggling. I think I counted something like 25 or 30 different things happening with me. I have the top 5 or so that bother me the most - not the veins - well if i didn't have these other things, they may be a priority...but they're probably about number 20...lol.

I've posted about this too in the past :-)

My veins stick out, but not all the time. The worst thing is that they are really visible, but they can't use them to draw blood. I'm like a pin cushion when they need to put in an IV or take blood.

Sometimes, veins become visible all over my body, like a map: bright blue veins all over. Very spooky... Then they disappear again.
