I have to say that after waiting 4months to see him and then being delayed for weather and waiting another 4months...it was def worth the wait.
His gut feeling (while we wait for the labs to come back) is that the kids DO NOT have congenital Lyme. I have prayed to hear those words! And although I know I still need to wait for the test results, I feel some sort of relief because this man is the pediatric Lyme guru after all. The total appt time was 4hrs for both kids and he drew a total of 16 tubes of blood from them. The kids exam were very thorough and he pointed out a few things for us to follow up on.
His demeanor is caring, loving, hopeful, patient, and humble. I love that he was wearing a track suit and slippers! I also appreciated how he was interested in my progress and assured me that I am "fixable". He even referred me to 2 docs for myself (also in CT). And as we were leaving he told me I was beautiful and very intelligent, something I havent felt in quite some time...very sweet man!
We literally spent our last few nickels on these appt/labs/travel/lodging for appts etc...but if we get answers...it will be completely worth it. I will post again as the test results come in.

I am sure you have some peace of mind from seeing this doctor. I wish more doctors were like him. Take a deep breath, for now. You sound like a great Mom.

desperate4dx,
I'm so happy you had a good experience. Could I email you for the names of the 2 docs in CT that he gave you?

I've always heard that he's wonderful.
Does he see adults?
If not, would you be allowed to get a recommendation from him "for a friend?"
You could email me?

I've met him at Lyme conferences. He is an extraordinary person. So glad your kids are being seen by him. Best wishes.
